Anyone here took the csia level 1?

^psia is USA, CSIA is canada.

its really easy. u need to be able to do basic parallel tunrs (skiddy) and pizza turns. and u have to have good people skills to pass the teaching part. the skiing part is really easy. well the whole course is super easy. in my course, 12/13 passed

i just took my CSIA level 1 like a couple of weeks ago, i didnt find it hard but i have been skiing for my whole life. make sure you are an enthusiastic tho alot of people in my group failed just because of that. good luck it a great job

aah ok, thanks alot guys. I'm more of a carver (heh the name :P), and I somewhat struggle with skid turning + wide stance, but I'll be practicing that on my carving skis. Skiddings a lot easier on my twins, but I think I might pull out carvers just for the course. Once again, thanks. :).

Just one thing though:

If someone carved (edged more) instead of skid, would they fail? They specifically ask for "skid turns" am i correct?

you have to be able to demonstrate what you are going to be teaching, so being able to show a good beginner paralel turn (ie not carving) is key, you gotta dumb cown your skiing for the demo parts. Still a fuckin joke though
