SICK BOARD.

Sure pencils are crunchy, but then you'd choke and die!

Go to a surfshop and find a board that is right for you. Probally a longboard, or rent a board from a shop (one of those foam longboards). Any good shop can get you all the gear you need and that is right for you. If you need anymore info just message me!

I was just thinking about this i really want to surf it looks so fun but i live in ohio... so anyone know any good places to surf in like Virginia, North or South Carolina, or florida. Like with some big waves thatd be good for surfing.. anyone?

In Florida? The space coast is dope... I learned there last march break (while missing the end of my short ski season). Tons of surf shops too. Right from Cocoa Beach to Melbourne has alot of beaches to surf. As said before, long board is the best to learn on.

Make sure to check out Ron Jon's Surf Shop if you are remotely close to Cocoa Beach. It's world famous. HUGE store...

im at the great LBC right now which is minutes from where the world championships for surfing take place......huntington beach...oh yeah. the waves are inconsistent and...yes... to get good waves you have to wake up fairly early, but this place rocks......youll figure out that its the life to surf in the summer and mud seasons than go back to the mountain during the winter. come down to huntington/ bolsa chica if you wanna get good surf....otherwise hit up santa cruz or santa barbara.

im going to south caroline for a week and im gonna rent a board there, i hope ill learn a little by the time i leave...

skiing in fun

if canadian bacon is ham, then what is bacon?

yeah definately rent a board first man. its useless to drop like 450 on a brand new board and use it like twice and give up on your surfing career, and kids that do this really piss me off.

as for whoever asked about surfing in carolina, hit up Outer banks, they have some nice breaks. just pray for swell and dont piss off the locals.

when I used to live in Ventura I surfed like everyday... I would be happy to sell you a board. I live in mammoth now so I cant surf

dspin7x, the outer banks in north carolina are decent. go to a beach called frisco, its on the southern part and it has nice wavez to learn on.

Yeah I live in PA, which is close to Ohio, and i surf in Maryland all the time at dewey beach.. There are some decent breaks out there

Im not sure how big the waves are out on Lake Erie, but you might want to check that out because I surf Lake Michigan. As for real surf spots with consitant surf check out the Jersey Shore, Delaware or Maryland for some decent swells. Good Luck!

yeah, never buy a board when you're first starting out, especially since a beginner board will not be what you'll want if you ever improve. i hate to say this but rent a doyle (the foam shit ones) for a day, helps to get a feel for it, yeah you'll look like a kook, but it's a good start, then move up to a hard board. make sure before you go out there you know etiquette because if you don't (depending on where you go) you may encounter some nice locals who will restructure your face. i grew up in santa cruz Ca which is one of the worst towns for localism, so it's not a great place to learn, but if you can find an abandoned beachbreak with smallish waves...learn there. surfing is getting huge, and the busier it gets the more frustrating it is. You have to then deal with more assholes and more bodies in the lineup leading to more conflicts...which is why i've shifted my focus from surfing to skiing in the last 2 years. surfing can be the best rush (getting tubed etc), but skiing is always fun no matter what. try it out and search for the unknown spots.

went to the ocean......tried surfing........stood up on the board.......ate my ass......walked away slowly never to surf again......period

ive always wanted to try but never been to the ocean with good wavews

so i said to her 'look baby,i'm not saying your not beutifal, i'm just not sure my man in there wants to pay for it'
