Anyone Here Attend FGCU?

Florida Gulf Coast University

Anyone here attend fgcu?

How are the cops? With drinking and parties

Are there a lot of on campus jobs that are available?

2 Bedroom dorm vs 4 bedroom dorm...with the extra cash any regrets?

Any other info that would be helpful would be straight. Thanks

im looking at transfering to there next year and would like to know similar things, id be a sophmore. what are you looking to gothere for? id be going for professional golf managemnet

the degree is a mix of the 2 i believe but its management i guess

adn id be comin back for christmas and such, adn skiing then

yeah if you need to know about UVM, U of Utah, CU Boulder, or MSU, then this is the perfect site to go to for advice, i doubt there are many floridians on this site

I might be going there next year for the PGM program next year.

But they way i look at it, is the 2 bedroom is best for freshman (you get the freshman experience)

The 4 bedroom apartment style dorms are good once you know people and want bigger space to stay with your buddies.

Overall though sick ass school only downside is that there is no skiing. But sometimes you gotta pay the price for a good education.

how about uccs, they have my program, im assuming some good skiing semi close. anyone know anything/go there?

Ohh and as far as cops, I asked when i was there about this and the students said that unless you are really loud and obvious about it, than there wont be trouble. And if you do get caught youll get written up.

Now in the aparment style dorms people over 21 can have alcohol in the dorm just not out when somone under 21 is there with them.

thats dope! whats your handicapp\? and how did the school look as for the PGM program? also were else are you looking at, mostly south easrtern, or someothers like uccs and i think arizona anf newmexico have programs at state schools.

I have a 10 handicap, the PGM program looked really nice (you get to play on all the premier courses around the college, the golf simulator, club repair area, bunch of good stuff)

I have also looked at Cal U south of Pittsburgh, it has a great program too. Plus i could just go to Seven Springs for skiing.

Im still kinda torn between the 2 i have to weigh options and consider if i want to ski or not, the 2 different programs, and other stuff.

No they are not, but they might get the acreditation for next year. But i talked with Justin Barroner head of the program and there are some perks to their program. For the PAT (player ability test) you dont necessicarly have to pass, he said if you have good grades and do everything else you need to do he wont hold you back from graduating whereas at FGCU you have to pass or you cant go any farther.

And as far as acredited goes you can get acredited in about 2 years, this means you just arent a class A professional. It takes about 1.5 to 2 years and you can work while doing this. The process is just repeating what you learned and putting it into books given to you by the PGA of America.

word, id probally jsut go to an acreddited school so i dont have to do another 2 years after. skiing and golf dont always mix, adn theres plenty of time to ski after school.

Yeah thats the way i see it too, i just want to find a good place to work at when Im done with it all (school) I would love to work at a resort with a Golf club you know, kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
