Anyone ever had FKS complaints?
i know i know. i already have a binding thread going but no one re opens it to see if i asked another question...

In the summer they get alot of dirt in the turn-table assembely and they are a bitch to clean out. but other then that they are my favorit binding !!

All my FKSs get trashed. Im kinda over them. Most of mine have cracks and missing parts from the plastic base. Some of the heel dins meters broke. the threads on the adjustment for my forward pressure got stripped out. the brakes are thin and suck.I love look/rossi bindings but my heels always get trashed.

the forward pressure has to be tightened pretty often on my old ones

but other then that they are perfect

this is most likely becasue you are using bindings thar are anywhere from 2-10 years old, new fks's definitly last if youtake care of em, but you are right about the threads in the forward pressure adjustment, those can get f'd up if you ride in the summer with all the salt and dirt.

just the narrow mounting pattern and sometimes when you're taking them off your boot will come out but the binding isn't open enough so it just pops back closed

Narrow mounting pattern not so much for the lighter folks, can be an issue with bigger people. My biggest issue is getting the fuckers back on in pow pow. Shits hard to knock the snow out of etc

the brakes on them suck... bending them, the difficulty of replacing them, the price of replacing them. they suck.

that being said, they are great bindings and are totally worth any hassles!

sometimes when i land switch my brakes will catch in the snow and make me eject because they just stop. and then i have to bend them back up so they arnt sticking out while i am in the bindings. it takes like 5 minutes and its not really a complaint just something that has happened

yes, the brakes SUCK. ive had it where i cant click back in the because the brake arms are pointing toward the tip of my ski and the brake assembly is totally fucked just from landing switch. MAKE THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY SEPERATE FROM THE HEEL. well they do now but not in the FKS. thats my only complain, ruined my day like 3 times though

Wiggle in the dildo sketchs the shit out of me...when if first got my p18s they were solid no travel in the arm to dildo connection now they wiggle like crazy and it makes me pretty sketched out

That's because you didn't bend it properly. Even with 80cm wide skis you need to take them apart and bend them like fat skis. I bet you have skis that are about 80cm, and you just bent them by mounting them and pulling them out at an angle. This is NOT GOOD. I had a pair of skis a while ago I did this with, thinking it would be ok. But since the brakes need to stick out to clear the ski, when you land switch (which lifts the heel with a lot of pressure, lowering the brakes slightly) on edge, the bindings will catch and you will fall. This hurts on big jumps. I have personal experience. You need to bend them properly so the brakes are perfectly facing backwards, you can even go slightly at an inward angle for extra protection. Straight back usually good though.

Moral: Take them apart and bend properly on any skis 80cm underfoot and bigger.

yep, if you're brakes are sticking out from the sides of your skis, its going to give you problems when you land switch and lean to one side or the other
