Anyone had issues with USPS?

Today is business day 6 waiting for my first class priority flat rate box containing a $500 watch I bought to arrive from California to here in Utah. I paid extra to get the watch here in 2 days and now when I call them, I can only get a person that can hardly speak english and all they say is, "I sorry, not our problem. Call big company."

Tracking info says that its been at the Bell Gardens sorting facility since last week and upon doing research about that place, all I get is pages and pages of negative reviews and reports of theft and "lost" items. Countless people get their laptops, vinyls, watches, and really anything of value lost at that location and/or dont receive them for 1-2 months.

I've called almost every person at USPS that I can think of and they keep redirecting me to someone else that I've already talked to multiple times. I am starting to get really pissed and I'm hoping I'm not one of those people that gets their shit stolen by the workers at Bell Gardens.

A $500 hit is not what I'm looking forward to when I bought myself the watch for my birthday..

You didn't feel the need to pay for insurance on your $500 watch?

If you have tracking - and it never shows up as delivered, you can call your credit card company and get the transaction reversed.

It has insurance on it. I just don't want to start going through the whole process of getting the charges on my card reversed and then having to tell the seller that he is out of his watch and he needs to also go through paypal/USPS to get his money somehow.

Its a long tedious process that I don't want to deal with right now but its starting to look like I am going to have to go that route.

If it's insured - contact the seller and inform them. They can file a claim with USPS - get the insurance money from it, and refund your purchase.

This is all extremely straight forward stuff - I'm surprised you needed NS for this.

ive herd usps is actually pretty reliable. no one stole it bcus its run by the government and i think they need a warrant or u cud sue them... i think idk though just give it a day or two itll come

If only it were that easy. First I can't file for an insurance claim until it is "proven" to be lost. Since it has only been 6 business days, it isn't considered lost yet even though nobody knows where it is. The item supposedly left Bell Gardens CA 5 days ago and hasn't been scanned in anywhere yet so it is either stolen or has been on a truck for 5 days straight and is who the hell knows where. I am supposed to wait 30 days before filing an insurance claim to prove that my 2 day shipping item is indeed lost.

After that is all said and done, I need to still find another watch (which this was the only one of this kind on ebay I could find) and buy it and get it here.

I'm not asking for assistance, I'm just sharing my story and wondering if anyone has had delays in the past while dealing with USPS and specifically the Bell Gardens sorting facility.

my friends dad bought an $11,000 Rolex. People ask me why I spend thousands on ski equipment. People spend their money on things, a watch doesn't make sense for me because I hate wearing them.

"dad"

i mean this is ns are you going to wear a 500 dollar watch with like tall jiberish stuff? id say nice watches are for businessmen, not nsers.

I use USPS quite a bit and I know how it feels to have something stuck somewhere inside the USPS system. it sucks especially if its important. I have found that a lot of the time the shipper lies about when it's actually shipped (check post mark date) secondly there are a lot of cutbacks for usps because our shitty government is broke. I've waited literally 7 days to get a priority envelope shipped from CA to CT. Priority its supposed to be 2-4 days or so they say and it's always at least 5 for me... usually 6 from west coast. I'm sure you'll get your watch, i think its very rare that items actually get lost. don't fret too much

yes my friends "dad", and I completely agree. nice watches aren't for NSers. Tall Ts and Rolexs dont mix

my skiing clothes arent worn anywhere but the hill

im all about ski skate bmx but you have to dress nice working in financial services

i also realize that theres about 100x more things you could spend your money on, a watch is probably the last thing you should buy.

the only thing that would justify this is if it was some like fancy outdoors gps watch thing, but im guessing its a shitty rolex wannabe.

Why do you spend 500-1100 dollars on skis and gear? I like watches and it fascinates me how they work and keep time.

Is it a problem to like watches? Its sort of a hobby for me and this watch was my first mechanical chrono that I picked up and it was also my birthday so I had no problem spending $500 on it since I have a decent full time job now that Spring semester is over and don't have any expenses to pay off atm.

I already have a Casio G Shock for any outdoors activities and don't need another watch like that. I guess I don't really "need" a classy watch either but I have wanted one for a while now.

Just checked my USPS tracking again and FINALLY the watch arrived about 90 minutes ago at the SLC sorting facility. Should be seeing it tomorrow and I'll post some RL shots of it. Glad to know that my worst case scenario didn't come true although I'm still going to file a complaint since it's going to be 7 days tomorrow since I ordered the thing with 2 day shipping.

USPS is kind of spotty. I'm always down to drop the extra cash on FedEx and UPS if it's something of importance to me. Glad you'll be getting your watch though man. I bought a pair of goggles on here years back and never received them after they came into the US from Canada.

USPS is only good because they physically can't open your package for any reason. anyone sending private items/illegal items usually uses USPS. UPS and FEdex are private and reserve the right to open anything they deem suspicious. USPS can only open something if there is literally marijuana falling out of it....

I'm sure this isn't 100% true but this is what they claim.

I had a friend order the brand new Nike Tiger Woods rain gear (about 350 dollars) online and never got it. After countless times calling USPS they never really admitted or told him that they lost his package. Just simply it should be there any day now. Though all went well and Nike sent him another pair.

Its an older Volmax Aviator Chronograph. Should be here any minute now so I'm just dying to see the mail man come up the street!

shipping companies are really starting to piss me off. I can't understand how a company operates on "hey pay us this money for a certain service, maybe it will happen and if it doesn't we wont refund you."

The concept of insurance is completely ridiculous as well. I have to pay you more money so that if you destroy my property while it's in your possession you will replace it?

there needs to be a new logistics company that understands all this.

So my item "departed" from bell gardens two days ago i havemt gottem any recent shipping information. Was your watch also departed or was it still at the facility? Im really sketched out
