looking for an iron, preferably in canada but if not, will pay shipping cost if the iron is the right price... yes i know its a long shot. but might as well give'r a try before shelling out the cash for one at MEC
i was going to... but the more i think about it... the more im thinking the extra cash will be worth it to make sure i don't blister the bases...any of you guys Wax your skis yourselves with an old clothes iron?
If you're worried about that are you sure you should be waxing your own stuff? No offence.
You're not supposed to hold it on there that long, or use all that much wax. Generally speaking if you can feel the tops of your skis and they are warm, you're getting the bases too hot.
And yes, you can use an old one just fine, try to get one without the steam holes as it's flatter and works better. Put it on the lowest setting and give'er.
Yeah man, the chances of that happening if you're paying attention are slim-to-none, if you set the iron on there and go play Xbox for 10 mins, yeah, bad day. But otherwise probably not gonna happen.
