Anyone good at fixing ipod classics?

I have a 30GB ipod classic that won't turn on at all, I have no idea whats wrong with it my friend just gave it to me. If anyone is good with this stuff, im willing to pay.
 
Will it take power at all? My first thought is the battery is fried. Is it beat up, or does it look like it's in good condition? Ever gotten wet?
 
All he said was "it shit the bed". no its not charging what so ever, its pretty beat up and I looked for water damage and see none.
 
i think i bought a new battery for mine for like 15 cents and it has been giving me a solid 4 hours when it used to just turn off like yours
 
I have 32g's of music, I would flip if mine ever shit the bed! But I have it all backed up on the external Harddrive. Sorry not verry helpful, but I would like to see what others say, I'm not very good at fixing them either.
 
Sounds more like a fried motherboard than a battery issue. Replace the battery and if it doesnt work, you can pick up a new hard drive for 10 bucks on ebay
 
sort of a dumb question, but i'm just throwing this out there, i dropped my 30 gig and the screen got that whole "ink blot" ordeal, anyway to fix that?
