i might be moving to brookings come august or september. i was wondering what its like out there. are there any places to ski? anything cool to do in the off season? any info at all about the area would be cool.

I'm was born/have family in North Dakota. SD has the Black Hills but the skiing is going to be scarce, I would predict. However, if you're far enough south you can blast down to Jackson for weekend trips.

dude, south dakota sucks. there's nothing there. i'm from minnesota, so i've been through that state going on ski trips. at least there's skiing in minnesota...

i was born in sioux falls. my parents went to college in brookings and i have a cousin there now. why would you want to go there? I go to mankato, mn (like 2 hrs from sioux falls) and all we have is mt kato, but it's something and it's close. are you going to go to college at sdsu or something? and why?

i was born in rapid city but i only lived there for three years. as far as i know, there are two ski resorts.

i might be moving out there if my girlfriend gets the job at SDSU hall directing. So i was just wondering what there was to do? i knew pretty much there wasnt a lot but its a lot closer to the good skiing than michigan is, just have to make some trips.
