There's a really nice hostel in Wanaka, pretty cheap and low key across from the lake. I stayed at the nomad's and really hated it honestly, just a big party place for broke 20 something year olds. Oh and the Base in Wanaka is the same way.

I stayed at Blacksheep hostel in queenstown. Was dope and cheap. I did pod and everything could be locked but need your own lock. .

Big kitchen and lots of fridge space.

That was two years ago.
