im spending my summer down there, and would greatly appreciate any kinda help you guys could give me. for one, im looking for the names of any good ski shops in the area of cadrona/snowpark, cinder cone, or any other places you guys could recommend.

also, if anyone is lookin to lower their rent over the summer, im lookin for a couch to live on. thanks guys!

sweet im going there end of august to visit my sister. is late august too late to ski, or would it still be alright?

im pretty sure its still pretty damn good skiing. thats roughly when im leaving.

i know, i am sooo excited. i got locked in at school in Ohio (got accepted into one of the best programs in the country for Industrial Design). since the skiing here sucks, and i cant ski that much anyway, why not spend the summer in NZ, ski bummin full time? its going to be epic.

ill be there to study abroad from july to november! Whats the deal with public transport down there? are there busses running from wanaka to snowpark? how bout from dunedin to wanaka?

Last year you could ski everything at ruapehu top to bottom at like september 15th with 20 degree C weather... epic

there is a job search office thing in wanaka, which could be pretty helpful.. you could also work in the kitchen up at snowpark, which apparently is a pretty sweet job...

i will be riding at snowpark this season all the time for sure.. cant wait, it will be eeepic

if anyone didnt know, i blew my acl and will be recouping this summer, so, the trip is canned. fuckin sucks oh well, we can let the thread die

Went to new zealand last summer. Apparently the best skiing is in the south island Coronet peak and the remarkables are around queenstown and then there is wanaka.

Obviously there is more snow in the south island also queenstown is awesome, quite expensive but seriously good fun. There aren't many places in new zealand that i would want to spend time but wanaka and queenstown are your best bets.

didn't see many ski shops to work in when i was out there, although it was summer over there, good luck am fuckin jelous, coming to the end of my season in europe and would love to do another one in southern hemisphere

new zealands mint. used ta live in wanaka. base is a good shop. treble cone is mint when it has snow. snow park is soooo gud 4 park. cardronas got an alrite park but just go ta treble cone and snow park

i lived in queenstown in NZ for a few months last year. If you go anywhere in NZ to ski go to queenstown. it is a huge international ski town where clubs are going everyday of the week. i know some cheap housing options if you are interested, it is 70 NZ dollars a week, you wont find any better. the skiing around there is alright, nothing compared to the states but for a summer in NZ it is great. the remarkables is pretty descent and NZ ski resorts got some of the best snow they ever had last year so hope it happens again. check out snowpark, its just a park and i hear it is not too bad. sweet mountains, GREAT BEER: Monteiths is the greatest beer ever so give it a try and its a NZ beer, and quite a bit of hot rich english girls wondering the streets during the day. have fun bro

also if you want to work it is pretty hard to get a job, a work visa is easy to get but work in the ski resort areas is really hard. if you get there early enough like in may then it is not hard. there is 2 job finding agencies in queenstown and they will find you a job if you are looking. anymore questions just ask
