anyone ever break brakes lots?

If I have a bad crash switch I often snap the brake off, there's about 4 or 5 of my brakes in the bush off the park run at my hill hahah. Anyone else get this prob??? at least I work at a shop and get free repairs when I break shit. They're last year's Rossi axials in case anyone's wondering.

yeah i broke my brakes 3 times last season. And i just got new axials this year so I'm kinda pissed off to hear that, oh well!

breaks suck for jumping. doesn't matter if you got the best bindings out there - when you crash landing switch your breaks (and sometimes bindings) are gonna break. it's just something we gotta deal with till they figure something out.

i broke or bent about three pair of brakes last season. mostly landing switch. It's great tho cause i have salomon's and i just go to my local shop and they give me new ones.

 
well, i have never ever broken my brakes. Actually, i dont even use brakes, they just add weight, why do you guys use them? maybe i am just not going big enough on my jumps to break them

 
i've bent my brakes. I just pushed them back to where they go.

There is nothing motherly about mother nature. Except for her big mountainous breasts.

I have already broke my breaks twice and all I have really done is rails. Last year I broke my old bindings.

fuck man bending your breaks suck ass man... i couldnt bend mine back and they kept dragging across the snow i was like FUCK and i got really pissed off and broke my binding.

ive never really broken brakes,well, actually, the brakes on my old skis dont pop back down when i take my ski off or when it pops off, so t would stop.

dude, if you don't know what people are talking about than you've never tried landing switch off a jump of decent size. If you had, no matter what, sooner or later you'd crash and realize that mad forces of gravity + body weight applied to a hinge that can't flex to absorb it means fast breakage. There's not much to be done about it. at least not until someone makes a binding whose brake can hinge both ways when it releases. this year i'm gonna get a bunch of spares and throw em in the bottom of my locker so i don't have to fuck with bending them back or finding another before i can ride again.

like my icon says, i suck, and no, i dont go big. so that must be why i have never broken my brakes. but why would they break? isnt' that what the DIN setting is for

 
if you land switch and fall, you probably want your bindings to release.

its better that your brakes bend the wrong way then your legs to do it.

Is there any kind of binding that doesn't have this problem of breaking on switch landings?

If not, are there any that break less than others?

Mine broke off yesterday and my ski went off down the hill and hit a snowboarder. At least he stopped my ski for me!

the bindings break because when u mess up landing switch it forces the breaks forward (they way they arent meant to bend) because they catch the snow, this brakes the breaks and sometimes the binding too, if you bend your brakes up at a 45 degree angle when they are in the up position this may help solve ur problem because they wont catch the snow as easily

brakes are made with a single direction spring, when you click in to your ski the brakes sit back. they arent meant to have any stress on them from the opposite direction. so when you crash switch, the ski comes off and the brake pops up, but its in the exact wrong direction that its supposed to work, so they usually break or you can strip the screw that the brake goes into.

I know reactors have a different brake mechanism, but im not sure whether it solves this problem or not.

 
i break the line reactor bindings all the time haha but the bindings suck so i guess i get what i deserve

yeah i fucking landed fine switch and somehow my brake digs in and bends around, breaking the metal tab off that holds it in. i didnt even crash, stupid pieces of shit

the first few times i had to bend my brakes back, i got smart and bended them up really far so they dont get in the way but still stop my ski from going down the hill when i crash

 
ive broken 8 brakes this year so far. ive learned you have to put and elbow in them so they rest on your ski.

Just dip your dong in paint and smack your helmet with it.
 
i am glad other people share my pain, i thought i was just retarded. i think i am going to start a new bad-ass brake company that specialezes in bombproof brakes made of high grade aircraft aluminum or possibly titanium laced tungston alloy. They would come in all sorts of shapes, like chicken feet or dildo...

 
i fucked up the pin right underneath the brake piece...if i bend it back its fine...but i just bought new breaks for em anyone..btw they were rossi axials too

Companies need to start making brakes that have a higher range of motion. It wouldn't be that hard. I suggested it at SIA, but all the big companies are pretty set in their ways. They'd prefer it if you just bought a new binding.

yeah mine totally got fuck. i had these crap rossis though. i was going a 270 out of this rail and i only did a 180 and it just snapped off. and it sucked cuz once again i was trying 270's out my ski came off that had the broken brake and it went all the way down the mountain into the parking lot. it was sweet

yea, one of my brakes snapped off..........but i dont think the binding matters, w/e kind you got. either way its a cheap piece of plastic........i got nice bindings, but the brake still broke........

ive broken my brakes about 3 times this year but im stil on teh same pair...the second time i bent them so far they we almost copletely180 from where they should be...facing towards the tip of the ski..it was rediculous

i snapped three last Satudray, both pairs of my skis were unskiable cause of SNAPPED bindings. It blows.

4 times this season got it warenteed twice, then i had to switch out heel pieces and did again 2 more times.

Mine broke four times this year. What kind of bindings are you guys having trouble with. My Markers would break or come off even when I would stomp the switch landings

i broke mine on my 912's when i was learning 9's. it skied down the hill into the parking lot. any salomon dealer will hook you up will all the breaks you need.

 
the skiis i was on all season ones of the brakes was broken.. drove me crazy b/c id always forget when i popped outa them

 
all I know is that I've ridden the look p12 Jib bindings for 2 seasons now and I've never had a single problem with them!
