Anyone ever been to Iceland?

My friends and I are all 17 and 18 and planning to skip the last two weeks of senior year to go to Iceland. We’ve got everything planned out and wanted to ask if anyone has been (or maybe even lives there) and knows cool shit that we should make sure to do while we’re there.

Blue Lagoon.

Airport is far as fuck from the city center. This is a place you want a rental car but that might be tricky at your age I'd look into finding somewhere that will rent one to you.

We’re renting a 5 person camper van and trying to drive around most of the island

The blu lagoon costs like 50 bucks to go in though

There must be some other lagoons like that right?

Blue Lagoon is a bit of a tourist trap but was still cool. There are prettier hot springs though, I believe I went to the secret lagoon which is on the golden circle which i'm certain you will do. I recommend you go to the penis museum, the only one of its kind in the world. Make sure to try Puffin, its a bit gross but its what people survived on in Iceland for thousands of years. Iceland is crazy expensive, it makes Vail Resorts seem cheap. The one night I went out, the 6 drinks i ordered came out to over $100. BUY YOUR BEER AT THE AIRPORT.

Finally the number 1 thing you have to do is buy a hot dog. It sounds weird but its actually really popular and really fucking good. I want to go back just to eat one of those hot dogs again. If theres one thing I would say you have to do, it would be this. Have fun!! if you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

Driving around the Island is the coolest thing you can do. But check out the glaciers I don’t remember exactly which one but we found a tunnel under a glacier with a river running through. And hike up some volcanoes. Check out the mid atlantic rift. Eat the hot dogs. Don’t die. Hope to see northern lights but could be a lil too late in season might be getting bright. There was also a place i think by the black sand beach that had sweet white agates.

Don’t die

Blue lagoon is a spa, it is man made, it’s not a natural lagoon. It is fun though.

Don’t go on glaciers without a guide, you’ll die.

Don’t eat the endangered shark or whale on many menus. Its a tourist trap and locals don’t eat it.

Do eat hotdogs.

Do go whale watching.

Do visit waterfalls and craters and geothermal vents.

Do your own laundry, laundromats do not exist there.
