Anyone else thin the Buick grab is ugly?

i mean, like tom was saying on the broadcast, it really only exists to help him spin faster. it looks cheesy to me imo. it's like the inverse reason of why a lead blunt is cool

Yeah that’s what I always thought. Way to wind yourself up and spin faster

I would say its probs a top 5 contender for ugliest grabs possible on skis but if ur doing it to win a comp its hard to really blame you for it ahall’s tryna get dubs not do some sick shit so that the 500 ppl that use NS can say he’s got swag

BLandz spitting facts as per usual

It would be kinda cool almost as a meme grab done once in a blue moon. Slower rotation. Then idk it’s kinda sick.

Yea tornado Buick’s not that sick but it’s been paying A Hall dividends so. Meh

I have a feeling that this grab is going to be getting a lot more popular. Imagine a future where none of the skiers use poles anymore, and all of them do pencil spins with buick grabs.

I do wonder if the physics advantage it gives in a spin to win setting will cause comp skiing to further calcify like figure skating where every skater is using the same form for jumps and it all comes down to execution.

Aerials went through this like 15 years ago when many national Olympic committees realized they could just train gymnasts enough skiing to straightline into a ramp and throw triples. Does big air end up there?

Yes. If Matej can triple a snowboard bc his air awareness is so good from skiing and tramps, it's probably only a matter of time before you see more and more big air skiers who specialize on jumps and can't really ski rails, big mountain, etc at nearly the same level.

It was cool the first time. It gives you no style points. It looks lame compared to all the other tweaked out grabs and rotations out there.

I’m a fucking hater on now spin to win (even though it’s always been that) skiing. And I honestly think it’s a sick ass looking grab man. I like it with the tornado spin as well and I like it so much because of the way he unwinds when he comes out of it. Best part of all his rotations forsures. However I’ve seen it enough times in the last two months and am hoping he throws some

other shit. Should have stomped that bitch run one, then did something totally different run two (maybe that nose grab he did last year at x????)

then if you land them both and want the 2160 for the win …… we’ll fuck it go ahead.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think it looks wicked stylee, and infinitely better than swervy safety grabs, but that's just me.

As long as A Hall the only one doing it I don’t have a problem personally. It’s not a cool grab, but tbh most two handed grabs are ugly. There’s something so forced about them idk
