Anyone else rock leashes on their skis?

I have fks's on my kung fujas. The brakes that came with the fks's were ghetto bent and snapped off after only a few runs at loveland. Im thinking about rigging up some ski leashes haha. anyone done anything similar?

finding fks brakes is a bitch. they are expensive as well. I would also have to remount me heel piece which is a bitch.

I use leaches for the water ramps.. but they aren't to practical, as when your ski pops off while your spinning, the leash makes the ski swing all willy nilly.

Leashes = bad idea. Prerelease, bad fall on a jump, catch an edge randomly, etc and you have a fucking ski attached to your leg that's flying along down the hill next to you.

Find a pair of brakes for whatever binding and sodder them onto whats left of the fks break. Credit goes to tbayskier for that idea lol.

leashes are generally better for pow days when you don't wanna dig up your ski or see it taking off waaaay below you. not so good for park

Solder is lead based. It wont hold up to much, you could use this method but weld the pieces rather than solder.

No. That won't work, at all, soder is for fixing electronics in place, you could weld them, maybe, but probably not you would just end up melting the shit outta your skis.

Ski leashes = Lacerations

ya i did some research on metals and such. i think the best course of action is to land every jump or rail at a 90 angle to the hill and do a shuvit out. That way if my binding releases it will just glide across the trail instead of shooting down. correct me if my theory sounds off

HaHa I just had to do this because until I can afford new skis I will be on the original Rossi Scratches with salomon s910 bindings that both brakes have broken off from. I don't really go too crazy on jumps though so I'm not super worried. We shall see.

sounds dangerous unless you had a really long leash and it always unpacked correctly if you had it stuffed in your boot or something.

Yeah I do, totally, because when I'm falling down a mountain I prefer to be strapped to a 6 foot long object with metal edges. Just makes the whole experience more enjoyable for me.

used to, but stopped when it finally came back and smacked my head. puls, rolling over your skis every time you fall hurts like a biiitch.
