Anyone else rather ski with snowboarders?

I know I do. I barely ever ski with other skiers, maybe 2 other guys on a semi-regular basis. The rest of the guys I ski with are all boarders. I dunno, I think maybe I LIKE skiing with them more than skiers. Anyone else?

If. I always ski with snowboarders although I have several friends skiers my best friends are all snowboarders. I think that it is the logical thing and that the good skiers don't have problems. Those that present so much objections of a side like of the other one they are usually some dipped.

 
Yes, I also usually ride with snowboarders and I think that as a general rule they have a better concept of flow and style. I like to see what they think of stuff I do, what looks good to them and what dosen't. It also drives me insane to see a fairly talented skier hitting a rail or table switch using a snowplow because they never bothered to learn to ski switch parallel, much less carve. To me style isn't just in the air or on the rail, it's your whole run through the park and if at any point you employ a snowplow, well -27 points. Snowboarders just seem to get it, where most skiers don't (although there is no lack of TALK among skiers about style). I am also interested in other opinions, so keep writing.

I think i agree with you, but i might just be confused about your point. most of the kids i ski with who are non-competitive (so most of my friends) don't care about style at all and they just wanna do all the fun shit like jibbing, hucking off cornice, tree skiing, and all that fun stuff without actually caring about learning how. I have a lot of friends who snowboard, and most of them care about style beccause (i wouldn't know) they say its easier to pick up than in skiing, so they get that before that start with the fun stuff. so, yea, i like skiing with the snowboarders more because they care about style, where MOST of the kids i ski with just wanna be able to say 'i pulled this sick..' whatever, and it just pisses me off. if the skiers are good tho, they're awesome. i hate skiing with beginer snowboarders tho, cuz they're just slow.. lol.

snowboarders are more creative than skier and just have a better attitde skiers are in alot of cases rich ex racer fags and they bring that competitive attitude to thte hill which is fukin stupid

I snowboard and I usually prefer to ride with skiers and I think my friend would rather go with me and another one of his skier friends

none of my friends back home were skiers but i didnt specifically choose friends that were snowboards because they have more 'style' I think you guys are tards.

ya it justi don't really know anyone who skis except my brother because i skate so all my friends skate and some snowbaord so ya i usually go with snowbaorders

i ski with two or three snowboarders. there cool though. not skierhaters. they support us and we support them in our sports.

Yeah I hate when you have to wait at the top for them to click in their bindings. The one snowbarder I skied with a while ago had nice bindings (Flow) where he just shoved his foot in and flipped up the back heelpiece. Made things faster.

I find that snowboarders are much quicker to give you praise than most skiers are. I think there are alot of ex-racers and ex-freestylers who are so used to the competitive aspect of skiing they've forgotten how to be stoked for each other.

i really only ski wiht snowboarders cuz i dont know anybody else that freestyle ski's. snowboarders are cool and i would ski with skiers if i new some that lived around me.

 
yeah boarders dont push you the same way skiers can, they cant really give you tips on how to do tricks either, i ride with snowboarders most of the time, but id rather ride with skiers

 
half and half some of my friends ski and they're pretty good but there arn't many other skiers that can rip but we have some fukin killer boarders

everyone i know boards, but they are super supportive, like whenever i land a new trick there like fucking sick man, thats rad and shit. Also, faggots at my hill always diss skiers, and theres nothing like shutting them up with a switch 5

id ride with snowboarders if they are good and stylie... whoever makes the riding fun i guess, it depends if theyre friend or not, then it dont matter what they put on their feet

im a snowboarder and i ride mainly with skiers, nothing against snowboarders just my friend i ski with every time skis. i dunno about us knowing more about flow and style, though some skiers have told me to do some wack tricks thinking they will look cool, but boarders have done it to me too

 
yeah, i usually ski with snowboarders. i have friends who ski, but alot of them really have no style, and it pisses me off. my friend Brad, flows down the park like water. he doesn't do huge tricks off jumps, but he is amazing on rails. he'll spin a 360 down the whole rail, and just grease everything with a super smooth sytle. plus he always has tons of dank, which would prolly explain his style. I find that while skiing with skiers will push you to do harder tricks, skiing with snowboarders will give you better style.

I think it is easier to ride with snowboarders because they are more about giving out the props and aren't so competative and don't have to make themselves think that they are better unlike the racers and exracer fags that take the hollier-than-thou' additude so when you land something the first thing out of their slimy mouth is 'i can do that' or ' that wasn't that good- i can do better'- ass holes need to shut the hell up and let us ride because i don't like to be pushed to progression- i can handle myself.

i'm the only one out of my friends that skis so i'm down with that for sure, it's not like the slow me down or hold me back or anything, i don't care, in my mind they're doing the exact same thing as me, except on one board rather than two and i don't care at all, the only thing i hate about boarders and skiers for that matter is when they make fun of or criticise the other sport and most of the time it's cause they don't know about it

im from Australia, and most of my friends are boarders, and they are heaps of fun to go with.

they are all into pulling tricks that they have never done before, without worrying about anything, and this makes me do it. plus most of my skier friends are all non-freestylers

plus they dont smoke bongs.

so they're more fun

i don't have a single friend that skis and my snowboarder friends are always stoked for me when i hit tricks cuz they (unlike most boarders) think its way more impressive and harder to do shit on skis i.e. slide rails

I would agree with nine-milla kid up there when he said snowboarders are actually quicker to give props, especially when they're due. When I throw a 5, get sketched out and miss my grab, some skier always comes up and says nice 5. However if I throw the most styled out 180 of my life, it's always the snowboarders who get it. And to all the haters out there, I didn't 'choose' my friends based on what they ride, they are the people I work with. These are just observations from riding the park a lot. Just to throw somthing new into the mix, the best skier in our park last season was a telemarker. He was fun to ride with also.

 
Yeah, exactly what that guy said. Bo0arders will give props for a mad stylie 180 or 360. But alot of skiers will be really stoked for an ugly 900 instead.

yea, boaders totally get 180s man. i was ridin with this boarder in switzerland and he had never seen a skier do anything cool. i was only doing zero spins in the pipe, no super high, like maybe 6ft, but he was all like 'fuck man, that was so sick, how the fuck do you land without seeing where youre going'

 
I'd say my friends are 50% snowboarders and 50% skiers but anyway who cares ? I mean I don't chose them for what they do just for what they are ! Where just out on the mountain to have fun and that's it ! Besides, snowboards are simply great to hold the snow up when you build a BC kicker whereas skis are awsome to stamp it down and have a nice finish ! (A perfect kicker psychologically helps to throw the best tricks doesn't it ?)

But the most funny part is when we exchange our boards and skis. Allmost all boarder started by skiing so they've got the basis but ski like 10 year olds ! They'll get into the park, try a lincoln loop, crash on their heads, and then tell you : Damn... It's not as easy as it looks ! ;0) No need to mention that we aren't much better on snowboards... (But I've never tried a cork 5 !)

yeah most of my friends ride boards - so i ostly ride with boarders. But it really depends more on a person's abiilty. I rather ride with someone better than me than have to wait for them at the bottom of the hill all day.

that is a horrible generalization to say snowboarders have better style, what the fuck- yah some do but not all, i think skiing iwth boarders, theres nothing wrong with it, but if thats all you do, it seems like a cop out of peer pressure, if i didnt want to be pushed by my skiin friends, i definetly find some boarders to sesh with

all the other skiers i know race and never wanna rip the bumps or the park or bc shit. my snowboarder friend rips everywhere, even the moguls, and is super fun to be around too.

im not great friends with anybody who skis park, so i usually have to go with my snowboard friends. but they all suck and tend to look down on skiing because its 'not cool' so when i pull something stylie, they dont know what to think. thery themselves spend ten minutes sitting above each jump, finally do some mad carving into it, flail over the jump and bail, but i dont say anything negative. but thats why i dont really get pushed much, cuz most riders around me suck.
