Anyone else pissed off about the latest Jeremy Clarkson 'scandal'?

Spark notes version: The mirror found an unreleased shot from a top gear review where Jeremy was saying how to choose between the brz and gt86 is simple and then does the ennie minnie moe rhyme, but in that shot he allegedly mumbled the n word (the original version of the rhyme) and using paid audio forensic people the mirror determined it was 75% possible the word he mumbled was in fact the n word . Now everyone is up in arms saying he should be fired and all that despite them redoing that shot and replacing n word with teacher and airing that version.

I am the only one that thinks this absolutely ridiculous, first off the alleged version did not even air and secondly it took a team of forensic audio engineers to determine that it was possible that he even said it. Doesnt that seem like a little bit of overkill?

Even if he did say it does it really matter, it was off air and highly unlikely anyone on set was that offended seeing as the clip several years old now and to top it all off it wasnt even said in offensive manner it was mumbled while reciting the childhood rhyme in the way most people know it was originally made and immediately recited the more politically correct way in the subsequent shot

Clarkson is in no way a racist and if you think he is you need to reevaluate the definition of being racist. People need to get over it and leave jezza alone, if BBC fires him a shit storm will be a brewing.

Meh, he's not the sort to get anything but praise for controversy. Especially if there's no proof he said it(I'm assuming there isn't, didn't watch the video)
 
Its so ridiculous. He didnt even say it! And if he did say it, it's a pre-written rhyme, not words of his own creation.

The part that pisses me off is that the magazines have headlines saying shit like" racist scandal Jeremy clarkson". If you take the time to learn the situation then you quickly realize he means no harm. But to the average person skimming the news, they see "Jeremy clarkson" and "racist", and boom his reputation is tarnished in their eyes. This is borderline libel IMO

They fire Jeremy, I will never watch Top Gear again. Honestly, even if he did say it, as someone pointed out, he is following the script of the original rhyme. The fact he mumbled shows he knows it is not right and that he felt uncomfortable about it.

Also who cares. The only problem I have with top gear is that every time they review a car they do it the same way. They talk about how sick it is then say they hate it or the other way around. You can't watch too many in a row. Other than that still down to watch it.

Most cars fall into two categories on top gear:

Very fast and refined to drive, but no "soul" or something like that(Think gtr)

Or unrefined, inefficent, etc, but a blast to drive( c63 amg, viper)

Just something I've noticed over the years
 
its to my understanding that Jeremy owns top gear and sells the episodes to the bbc. that's why his so loaded. I don't think he can be fired from something he owns (then again look at the clippers owner). the bbc can stop buying the program but its all aloud of bollock and I hope the only thing that becomes of this is that people realise how shit the mirror really is.

take him off the air for the shit with tesla, not for this. In all seriousness though, I think it's alright, he corrected it and it reflects and older generation. My grandparents and their friends are relatively young, very proper/well mannered, but lets just say that some of the stuff they say doesn't reflect that. Ultimately, old habits die hard, and while it may not be right, it was socially acceptable at the time the rhyme was ingrained in his brain. He fixed his mistake, but people love a "scandal"
 
I hate how political correct the media and people in general are today. Rappers say the N bomb constantly in so many songs, in public, etc and get away with it...why can they say it but not us?

as a half black man, if he did say the full word i would hope he would at least be held accountable, but not totally shunned. Apologize, be nice,etc. That being said, he didn't even say it. It was in the script, and he mumbled it to avoid it. Its pretty clear he doesnt want to say it at all. And just for that these ridiculous papers are claiming hes Donald Sterling 2.0.

Holy fuck thats a good point. Honestly its a fucking word, I know swears and shit are looked at badly but he didnt physically harm anyone or anything like that. So can I sue Lil Wayne for all his coked up cash because every line has the term in it?

If people want to view him as a racist so be it but The Mirror can fuck off and stop acting childish, "oh you offended us we want you gone"

According to The Mirror a BBC worker said that this could be one of the last chances Jeremy has. If he gets cut from the show BBC will lose so many viewers I bet even May and Hammond go against the BBC.

Jeremy Clarkson reviewed the Tesla roadster in his typical mocking way and Tesla tried to sue him for damaging their reputation. Honestly think what you want about the Tesla however I bet most people don't use Top Gear for a serious review of a car. Don't get me wrong the show is incredibly entertaining, they just seem to sacrifice some honesty in their reviews for entertainment.

I remember when Piers was getting fired Jeremy had some celebrity guest and made a reference on how he/she still had a job unlike another Brit over in the US.
