Anyone else have Moto GP fever

So recently I saw some moto gp action on the speed channel and oh my god these guys are insane. It is my new favorite form of racing. These guys are insane. They go as fast as formula 1 but its so much more dangerous because if they crash they are screwed. I just love how they pass people like it is nothing, its crazy how in same races there are like 2 and 3 passes per corner. They lay their bikes over so far its just crazy. I dont know if anyone else watches this stuff but i think it is absolutely insane.

Also, there are some crazy mother fuckers who decided that moto gp wasnt gnarly enough and decided to take the same bikes from moto gp and race on city streets. They have several tracks where they do these TT races and it is hectic. These guys come flying down these streets doing close to 180 and launch off little gnolls trying not to destroy themselves. These guys have to be the ballsiest little punks in the world.

Anyway, I dont know if anyone esle is into mto gp racing or not but I think it is absolutely insane and so much fun to watch.
 
i with you on this one. moto gp is sick. thanks for those links too, those are killer! that TT stuff looks insane too.. would be soo much fun. you've gotta be completely fucking nuts to go 200 mph on roads like that... shit.
 
yeah, for sure man. i saw that and i was just like holy shit how do people not die doing that. i mean those tt races there were like 50 guys starting and just smashing into that first corner. then those onboard shots are hectic while they are going like 180 and they are like feet from each other like 3 wide going down a tiny road, its just so crazy i cant even imagine. i mean they have like the best bikes in the world just pegged on crazy country roads with all kinds of bumps and stuff. the amount of talent these guys have is incredible.
 
I hope they dont come to indy and desecrate the sacred grounds with their gay bikes and even gayer fans.

Moto Gp sucks, its not interesting, go watch indycar (better racing, more history, chill drivers) or formula 1
 
at least moto gp has jumps and wheelies, s turns and corners, rather than going around in a circle. plus, being 3 feet off the ground going 180 mph and wobbling takes a lot more balls than indy in my opinion.

if you've ever ridden a motocycle at 100mph+ you know what im talking about.
 
woah, not interesting??? they go almost as fast as those irl cars you just posted man. other thing is how are the fans gay? seems like the same type of fanbase as f1, but correct me if im wrong. formula 1 is really badass too, but i just love how easily they can pass on the bikes cuz they are so skinny. like on the same track an f1 race would have much fewer passes just because it is harder to. also, i absolutely cannot stand any type of racing that is on an oval, it seems to me that it takes no skill, i mean anyone with racing skills could punch the gas and turn left from time to time. i garauntee if any driver from f1 did the irl he would lay waste in those oval tracks.

uh moto gp has no jumps at all, try going in turn 1 at indy at 220 mph, try going down the corkscrew at laguna seca at around 150, try going 3 wide an entire 300 mile race on the high banks at texas and get back to me. Indycar is the ballsiest most intense of motorsport there is.
 
No no, Moto GP has everything on that bull shit. That is the training ground for potential f1 starts. There is F1, Moto GP, and WRC... every other sport filters their best into those disciplines
 
yeah, I've been watching this for a couple of years, well ever since Valentino Rossi was in the 125 cc, which was actually many many years ago! It's much better than F1, I never really liked F1 anyway...
 
I cant stop watching F1 lately, idk all of a sudden its so interesting to me. Something about watching the races relaxes me yet gives me such an adrenaline rush.
 
yeah, i know moto gp doesnt have jumps... but you never commented on tt racing, is that gay too?? and yeah laguna seca is a badass track and that i have respect for, i just dont think that oval tracks would be very hard, i never said irl is stupid, just that the ovals are a little dull. and i highly doubt they would be 3 wide for the entire race man. i mean come on, you are trying to say the only good sport is irl. its like splitting hairs man, its all the same thing in the end, a bunch of ballsy mother fuckers hustling something with tires and an engine around a track at hair raising speeds. no one is trying to say the stuff you like is retarded, it might not be my cup of tea but i still respect the hell out of it. it might not have come off that way but, i think all racing is pretty nuts.

so, just chill out a bit man, and i think if you would ever try motorcycle racing you would probably have a lot more respect for it man, that is crazy. i mean if you wreck on a bike you are going to get owned, they put it all on the line.

and to the guy who said there is f1, moto gp, and wrc, hell yeah man, those guys are all so nuts. the reason i didnt post anything on wrc is cuz i think everyone already sees a ton of that stuff but yeah, that stuff is so sweet to watch.

anyway, i hope i didnt sound like i was telling you that you were stupid for liking irl, so yeah, i just think moto gp is gnarly as fuck.
 
i love that shit + formula 1- im sick of speed only having nascar on all day- it used to be planes, bikes, boats, even tractors- but now-all nascar except 4 like 7 in the morning
 
more into f1 at the moment as we have a brit who looking pretty good, insane for a rookie. they are in america now and i think alonso is the quickest at the moment. Bring on Silverstone
 
yea i should be at the USGP now, but im stuck in colorado.

I'll be at the Moto GP at Indianapolis motorspeedway in the next year or so, I think the 2007 US Moto GP Grandprix will be pretty chill.
 
yeah for sure man, races are fun. i went to my first race last weekend. well, i went to qualifying cuz we tried to go skiing on race day but it didnt happen. i went to the champ car race at portland international. damn it was sweet just wandering around in the pits scoping things out and checking out the babes in the race suits haha. but yeah man, it was so gnarly how loud they were and just like the raw power that those cars have. incredible to believe that one of the drivers there that weekend had just graduated high school that week, what a sweet life that kid is gonna have. but yeah man, pretty much as far as im concerned if its racing its pretty rad to watch.
 
that kid was graham rahal, he is a fucking pussy, his dad runs a team in hte IRL. Glad to see Sebsastian Bourdais pull out another win though. I think next year the portland race will be run by the IRL because champcar's crowds there have been declining.
 
its cool....but F1 is cooler, this is because the physics for F1 are fucked. Most 1000 crotch rockets have F1 numbers, but no street car can even come close to matching a f1 car.

Moto GP is cool, but the only bike race that is worth watching is the Ile of Man race. You want a fucking crazy death race, thats what you want to peep. 300 kph on some tight island streets.....just nuts, not to mention its an amature race.

and yeah as far as team rahal i dont know if the kid is cool or not i just thought it was crazy that a kid that young was already in that high of a league, i mean when he gets better only good things can come from that. who knows though about that portland race, it was sure fun to go check things out even if it was just a qualifying day. just the atmosphere and everything being at a race is pretty sweet. unfortunately i dont really have many opportunities to go to races because in eastern washinton there really arent many tracks.
