Anyone else have a crap season?/ how to cope with season ending injuries.

I live on the east coast, but I missed all the powder. Every time I went up it was after some rain storm or something so the majority of my winter was on ice. I only had one legit day with powder. It just feels like such a missed opportunity. I also tore a ligament in my hand so I never got my one last spring trip in, and its going to bother me all summer.

I know some of you had to sit out all winter cause you were hurt. How do you even deal? Just missing spring skiing is annoying me.

Montana had the weirdest winter. The skiing was amazing in December and early January but the snow was complete garbage for the rest of the season. Takes a mental toll

Had an awful year finically and mentally, unfortunately this impacted how much I got to ski this year. And OF COURSE I'd have a winter like this when the east coast has a stellar year...

Theres always next year!

Bozeman hitting 60+ in January? kind of messed up if you ask me. I got one day at big sky in late January. The locals were complaining about the snow conditions. I called them spoiled brats because it was the 2nd best snow I had skied all winter (first being U.P. Michigan, endless powder, garunteed, every year).

Back home in Minneapolis I had wanted to do a lot of urban, I had some crazy ideas that would require at least 14-16" of base which we typically get. This year we never had more than 3" on the ground at one time. Still got some stuff done but I really feel betrayed.

STOP HALLIBURTON. this is all their fault

Sorry to hear that man but we all have bad years at some point. I never really get to ski that much at all between working and school. Still during that time i managed to rack up multiple strains, broken bones, and a concussion.

The best thing to do is keep yourself occupied on other things u love. It love creating art, going on hikes, skating. also being able to ski everyday is privilege that many people do not have. First world problems

god I hate when I miss the powder here in Minnesota, such a bummer when I have to ski on ice... Lol bitches complaining about not getting enough powder days xD sharpen your edges and get over it

Haha tru, you never quite know pain like crashing on jumps in MN, strait bullet proof ice landings = broken shit/huge bruises

I tore my mcl and I live on the east coast so the one year where it was amazing I missed a good 6 weeks in the dead of winter

I had one day where I pulled my groin after standing up from sitting (no clue how it happened). Went skiing, tried to hit a rail and felt too much pain to continue. It went away in two days but there is nothing that sucks more than small injuries caused by nothing that prevent you from skiing.

I skied so much early season this year and was having possibly the best year of my life skiing. First weekend in February I blew my knee out by blasting my ACL in half and tearing my meniscus. It was the worst ever. I did three weeks of physical therapy on it and was able to ski a little for two weeks. The pain was just too much, and I went in for surgery March 25. So I am three weeks out of surgery now and finally starting to walk again.

Believe me, I know the frustration when seeing everybody's spring ski edits and the fun my friends are still having. I just keep focusing on next year.

Well in my area, far western Montana, we had a drought of snow from mid-January until the last open day at Lost Trail. I usually like any snow, but sheer ice made it a bit rougher of a season. I will admit, we became a tad spoiled because of our amazing December

The snow at higher elevations is usually great quality. Not sure what you're skiing but big sky had some great snow. It definitely got icy on swifty later in the day when I was there but nothing as bad as the man made bases of Minnesota. The stashes in the trees and higher elevation hardpack kicked ass though! Midwest kids are talented at finding pow stashes because we're like starved meth addicts.

Big Sky had an odd season. We had a serious melt, a freeze, thaw again, and now powder.

My season ended March 27th with a foot surgery, I've been skiing with a broken foot from January till then.

It sucks, but I focus on other things, watch edits and get stoked on my recovery and next season.

I had like 14 days of skiing this season, so that was pretty shitty, however i brought all my tricks to the mountain in my last 3 days of skiing and i progressed alot. didnt ski any pow or really any fresh snow this season and didnt bring any tricks to the mountain until my final 3 days

The last day I skied, when I hurt my thumb, my friends and I were hot lapping like bosses and we were talking about how it really takes until spring for everything to click, and the snow is soft enough where you feel more comfortable throwing down. Which is why spring skiing is key, which is why I am bummed I missed it.

same i tore mine at the end of January this year and then the winter suddenly decided to become awesome so that sucked but it didn't affect me that much because it seemed that my spring mindset started earlier and I didn't miss it as much as I thought i would have
