I'm wondering if any of you little rip jibbers demo skis before buying them. IS a demo something that would encourage you to ride a new ski, or is your mind basically made up before you buy the ski.

Theres not enough 'Consumer' demos out there for people to take advantage of. And most kids arent going to fork out $30+ a day to test a different skis, even if that price is applied towards the purchase of a ski.

 
Definitely. Most places have demo centers/tents up so its pretty easy to find them around here. Its worth it if you have access to a demo center.

I demoed 3 or 4 different skis this year before I actually bought any.

I demo skis when I can. But that's not very often. And sometimes you just can't demo the skis you want.

When I tried to demo mogul skis, the guy at the Salomon tent told me I would have to buy them to try them. I'm sure it's that way for most low-production skis. ie. Armada, 4-FRNT, etc...

 
most places dont becuase the skis will get all fucked to hell if they let people hit rails on them, dum question

twin tips are demoed pretty rarely. When ski shops come around to my local place, they mostly carry carving boards and n00bster skis. K2 comes around once in a while, and they have PE's, but I already have PE's...

 
Only Demo if you have a pair of skis locked that you want.

I've never demoed a pair of skis before buying them, but only because I never had the opportunity to. If I had the chance, I would definitely, definitely try out skis before buying them.

demos don't cost money everywhere, at our hill it's free, and you can have them for like 5 hours

I didnt demo before I got my PEs because I knew I'd love them. Oh no wait that was because they were the only twin tips I could afford.
