Anyone commute to school via bike?

I was wondering how far you commute to school via bike and if anyone would recommend it over a shuttle to campus.

I'll be living about 5 miles off campus but it's about a 13-15 minute drive. I've been thinking some stuff through, I will be taking my car from NY to Denver but I will not be commuting with it to campus. I might sell it once I get there though, only major downside would be I wouldn't be able to ski whenever I want and I don't know anyone in the area yet that skis or boards. Actually I do but he goes to school in Boulder and I'll be way out of his way.

What do you think guys? Sell car and get a bike and commute to campus whenever I feel like and hope I know someone there that could hook me up with a ride or keep it?

i bike to school, but on rainy days i mooch rides. It depends how many mooch-worthy people you know for if your bike brakes and rain

at the denver airport there is a bus system that goes to all the major resorts so if your not too far from there you might not need a car to get up to summit co

im totally skipping over what you want outta me but, i longbord 2 miles to school everyday

like 10-12 minutes

Biking to school is awesome. Really wakes you up in the morning and gets you in shape for skiing if you do nothing else. I used to do about 3 miles in 20 minutes each way and loved it. Bring a not sweaty shirt to wear in school though.

yeah very fun. I live very close to school and theres a huge hill, so its pretty nice to go fast and wake yourself up in the morning.

Sell the car and ride man, i just got myself a specialized centrum for gettin round london. saves so much time and means no waitin around for public transport or standing on cramped trains

I was thinking about biking to work this summer cause its only like 4 miles. Then today it was raining and I was glad I drove a car.

I just started commuting to summer classes via bike. Flying around campus and being a dick in traffic is actually pretty fun, plus gas is too retarded to spend on short commuting around a city.

that's the thing though, i don't have a lot of money right now. Not even for a decent bike and another pair of skis. If I sold my car, I'd have a decent amount of spending money for a bike and a couple skis and be able to live off of it for a long time.

It kinda sucks to do with a backpack on sometimes if theres tons of shit in it, but I've done it occasionally...the ride to my school is about 3 miles or so I'd say

im doin it to work and back. 10 miles round trip twice a day. im looking forward to it, if yyou did it i think itd wake you up alot more than driving and get your mind goin and in primetime for classes

you should

im biking to work 3 miles each way this summer, its gonna save me about 300 dollars in gas and another 300 for insurance

you can get dirt cheap bikes, as long as it gets you there and back, is comfortable and has break your good to go usually. So i say spend 50 or less on a bike, and then keep the car to go up skiing on the odd days that you do.

The answer to this question depends on the location of the nearest taco bell. If it is within walking distance. Get a bike. If it isn't, keep your car.
