Anyone break their face skiing?

So yesterday at take off on a 50footer, one of my skis caught an ungroomed patch of snow and i ended up doing a 450 to the knuckle(10 feet short of the landing) and getting whiplashed onto my face.

After ER, i get the results of a chipped eyesocket and broken cheek bone... Plastic surgery here I come.

Anyone got similar experiences?
 
i was trying switch 3s and forgot to carve, so when i went to spin, i caught my edge and ended up diving off the jump and knuckling it with my face. my nose started bleed furiously and i skied down to ski patrol with loads of blood all over my coat and gloves. i though i broke my nose, but it ended up just being a nasty nose bleed and a black eye. i consider myself pretty lucky cuz i probabaly could have gotten pretty messed up.
 
daaamn thats harsh. hope you get to do that cool reveal scene i see in the movies where the doctor hands you the mirror while he removes the bandages. then you get to smash the mirror for free.
 
slammed my face two days ago in park lane stupidly trying to turn a switch 9 into a 10. broke my nose, broke my goggs, black eyes, scraped up face. now no babes think im good looking.
 
go big or go home right? +k for choosing big before choosing to go home.as for your recovery, hopefully it all goes well. this gives more meaning to full face helmets..
 
Broke my fall on a flat down with my mouth 2 years ago..

My best friend's little sister got airlifted from mt. snow because her race coach took the kids off of a hip and she hit it with too much of an angle, dropped like 20 feet to flat and her knees hit her face. Broken face.
 
Ivan did something similar years ago. Got a ski ripped off by heavy spring snow on the top of a steep pitch, on the slide down tail of the other ski caught in the snow and after loading with pressure released and I got hit in the face with the binding. Cracked eye socket, broken cheek bone and busted nose, as well as a 1/2" by 4" strip of ski ripped off my face and brutal black eyes. Took 2 days before docs could xray because of the amount of blood in my sinuses, and they eventually told me that everything was aligned enough to just let it heal on its own. Within a month everything was back to normal and except a little knick in my eye socket there is no lasting signs of anything.
 
Last weekend my friend(snowboarder) went to 270 disaster a flat down box. Hit his mouth off the the kink of and knock out all 4 of his front teeth.
 
at least youll have time to focus on your sick ass art? unless youll be blindfolded after surgery or something. +vibes dude.
 
kid im friends with dropped a cliff and when he landed his knee hit his face. he broke his cheekbone in 3 places and had surgery to fix it a couple weeks ago
 
one of my friends hit a tree face first. broke his jaw, cheekbone, and eyesocket. his jaw is wired shut but he lucked out and didnt need any other surgery
 
I saw this happen from the chair, absolutely brutal I can't believe that you got up meanwhile ski the rest of the day. Fucking hero
 
haha yeaaa... that musta been a fun thing to watch.

Im going under the knife on Monday at 8am... HA plastic surgery, always thought its for posers :S
