I just booked my flights, going to Steamboat mid January.

How is it, what's good out there?

The stoke is real, can't wait to leave Buffalo

Hey, from buffalo myself haha, was there last year in January. Was blessed with 10 inches of powder for the first day and I can 100% say it was the best skiing day of my life compared to western new york skiing haha. So many hidden areas you can find and it has a vase terrain difference there were you can ride just about anything you want.

Yeah man, my normal place to ski. Always looking to add more guys to the Group. Lmk when your there

Really great tree skiing there, there's something so magical about ripping through an Aspen grove on a pow day. Nothing that steep there but lots of fun terrain. If you get snow while you're there I'd spend most of my dad on pony express lift or Morningside lift, my favorite tree skiing zones.

Great, will definitely check those areas out

Im going out to steamboat Christmas week, they just got 15in. Pumped for the tree skiing but worried im going to need something fatter that 102

Yea, Steamboat is way fun.

It's been said in here before, but nothing super steep, but great tree skiing. Daph nailed it with the Morningside and Pony Express recommendations. The whole mountain is pretty fun on a pow day though. Not a ton of steeps and light powder makes it super fun to just blast around and pop off all the little natural bumps and jumps. The hot springs are awesome after skiing, too.

Check out our full guide to Steamboat here for some more info.

Nah I've found 100-108 at the waist is perfect for CO, you really never NEED true fat skis(>115/120) out here and the only days they even warrant coming out is if you get a day over 20'' or a storm cycle that leaves you with at least that much in a few days. But yeah steamboat is a lot of fun, you'll have a blast.
