Anyone been charged with a criminal misdemeanor?

I won't go into too many details but I destroyed city property. It looks like ill be charged with a criminal misdemeanor at the age of 17. Since this is my first violation of the law I'm looking somewhat optimistic. If you have been charged with one, how did you get your charges dropped or reduced?

Get a public defender. You can get that reduced pretty easily if you don't fuck up anymore. I just got a DUI so my life is pretty different. Can't afford a ski pass this year, or go to school and live on my own anymore. You got a slap on the wrist.

why would you get a public defender? Those are only for people that cannot afford a lawyer, i'm pretty sure if you are under a certain income bracket you can't use a public defender.

When I was 18 I got a misdemeanor for reckless driving, property damage, and endangering a minor(friend was 17). I parked on the grass in a park. Apparently that was reckless and damaged the earth lol.

I got 6 months of ACD and as long as I didn't get in trouble for 6 months then everything would be and was expunged. Daddy's lawyers helped a lot. Honestly probably would have been dropped to ACD regardless. But getting a lawyer is probably your best bet. Since it was property damage you might get community service which isn't really that bad.

I have gotten 2. Your records will be sealed once you turn 18 since you're underage. Don't worry..it's really not going to effect your life in a few years.

Wouldn't hurt to at least see if you qualify for one. I would assume if OP is under 18 he probably isn't earning a whole lot.

Just got a misdemeanor for paraphernalia this summer and it hasn't effected me yet
