So I was just cruising by boreal today on my way home and with the amount of snow that is still there. I dont get why one of the mountains doesnt make a HUGE ass pile and set up like 4 rails. Im sure that they could have something setup until mid June. theyd be the only mountain doing it. Hike only and youd have to pay each time you went up. Im sure thered be quite a few people whod be down to pay 10 bucks to go shred rails on a snow patch.

eh, there was still a bunch of snow on the pass at rose last week to do rails or hike whatever you want, even lines. for free

ya I know. but what i was saying bret is the resorts could make a sick mound of snow with some legit rails and keep them maintained for a while and they say they close cuz its just pass holders in the spring so charge 5 bucks and its hike only. just a way to ski longer

werd we built a jump and found a rail up there but by now its def melted out

i think it would be tight even if they set up a couple rails to hike

yeah it would be cool for us to do that, but just not possible. Between insurance, land leases, and all that other good stuff. Plus we would have to have ski patrol on-site, park staff, and building maintenance. Just gets costly.

Plus we all take the month of May off, so there is no one around.

Hope y'all are having a great summer, Jon

Thats the REAL reason, no one at boreal, including management does not want to try for anything else. They are just happy with the standard season, and are NOT willing to go the extra mile. They would rather go on vacation... Clasic boreal, act like your rider oriented, but it really just for the money(aka flatlanders)

I dont know any other resort that DOES try anything else.. Sure, theres whistler and hood, but those places have glaciers and shit, so it makes financial sense.

and besides, when the fuck is a company not in it for the money.. gotta make a profit somehow bro.

Last time I checked, they werent taking a HUGE pile of snow and setting up rails... during the summer...

so therefore. No.
