Anyone at Blue Mountain looking for HDPE?

About three months ago I purchased 2 sheets of black HDPE, dimensions were 1/4" x 29" x40". I cut them down to 9" wide, 40" long (or right around there) for a box.

I'm no longer going to be using the sheets, probably practiced out back 3-4 times, so they're barely used. There are 4-6 screw holes in each. One in each corner and two in the middle. The holes were drilled with a countersink bit, so you should have no problem just screwing the sheets back down onto a box.

Anyway, I thought about just tossing them or selling them on ebay - but I can't imagine them going for much, so if anyone wants them, e-mail me at NolanVW@gmail.com and let me know when you'll be at Blue. We can try and work out a time to meet in the lot and you can just have them.

I'm probably going to be up at Blue this Sunday 16th at night and some weeknights next week. Or, I live in the Easton area, so if someone lives close, we could just meet somewhere too.

Wait is this actually work on Boxes, because I have been trying to build one for a while and cant find the most realistic topsheet material, if it really works, i have a pass at blue and might be up on sunday, how much is it?

No, I took the sheets off the box. I actually still have the box, but I think I'm just gonna cut it up and throw it out - too much of a pain to transport anywhere. It is 15' x 1.5' x 9"

I'm not charging anything for the sheets, just giving them away to anyone who can use them.

just realized you weren't asking if it's still on the boxes. HDPE works perfect for boxes - it's an identical feeling to any of the boxes at Blue. I'm not sure if most mountains use HDPE or something similar - but if you search around, pretty much anyone who's making a decent box is using HDPE or lexan (I think), which is more expensive.

You could also just get away with PVC lined up next to each other.

Here's what it looked like before I took off the topsheet:

sick, i'll probably be up there two, does this stuff role up or something so it will fit in my car or what?

Hey,

No, HDPE is not rollable, foldable, even really bendable, it is very stiff plastic. However, like I said, it's cut down, so it's in 40" long sheets, 9" wide. I don't think it'll be a problem fitting them into your car.

As for building a box, I mounted the HDPE onto a 15' x 10" board that was already screwed into a 15' by 12" board. I then took the 1/4" PVC pipes (might be 3/4"...forget) and they sat on the outside of the 15x10 on either side and on top of the 15x12...they came to just the perfect height slightly above the HDPE.

Cool, let me make sure I'll be up at Blue on sunday and I'll get back to you, and your sure your just giving it away?

Ha, yea, I thought about selling it - but I figured someone locally would like it more if it was free.

I bought it for $25 plus $15 shipping - so instead of sell it on Ebay for $10, it'd probably get better use with a local skier who can use it on their on setup.

I'll also be there some weekdays next week...not sure when yet. If you end up changing your mind, let me know so I can put this up on paskiandride to see if anyone there wants it.

Nice, give me until tommorow to give you a definite answer, I could really use the stuff and I am a member on Paskiandirde.com as well and know if you put it there someone else will jump on it in no time.
