Anybody tour?

Anybody here do any ski touring? I'm just getting into it, went up Diamond Head on sunday. Anyways, yeah, would love to do some more...

i've got all the gear but no one to go with... so... i've got no experience really in the whis bc but i'm ready to roll... i've been trying to make time for an avy class kind of thing sometime.. but uh... i'm game when i'm free.

yeah, I don't really have anyone to go with in whis either and I have all my own gear too... Apparently the Alpine Club goes out every monday in whis. I could also use another avy class, haven't done one in years...

i really wanna get into it when I get the money, seems pretty awesome. For courses check out http://www.themountainschool.com/ they look pretty good, certified, and not too expensive and they run from whistler.

theres like 3 companies that run courses out of whistler... and they're all certified yada... been meaning to take one this year myself. should get on that.

Russet Lake is behind whistler.. u go over flute, then oboe then up cowboy ridge... then ur at the lake. theres a hut there for sleeping in. Hiked there this summer... nice place. shitty hike back down singing pass though... long and boring.

are the prices for the courses all similar, in the $200 range?

I tour a bit. Actually was up the Duffy ski touring up Rohr (next to the Cayoosh and peak 7500)today. Didn't end up skiing anything due to wind and some other factors. But it was still nice to get out there.

The russet lake cabin is close to the Fissile. I loooove fissile. One of my fav mtns I have skied. Super fun chutes.
