I am tired of carrying around my dslr setup, so I am wondering if i should switch to a m4/3 setup? Does anybody on here got any experiences to share? Most of the forums like fredmiranda are all about street and landscapes, so skiiers; What do you think?
I just picked up a gh3 and I'm loving it. I just ordered the olympus 17mm f1.8 and I can't wait for it to arrive. The 1080/60 is also a huge plus. Right now I'm using it with a battery grip and rode videomic pro on top of my Glidecam. I can't recommend it enough.
it's not m4/3 but the x-pro1 is worth looking into. i think fuji is the only way you're going to get an optical finder which may or may not be big for you... i love not having to use the evf on my x100
And using its tiltable lcd as a faux waist level finder in conjunction with it's tap to focus capabilities is a killer combo for street/candid portraits.
Why don't you like it? It just looks like a shrunk-down DSLR instead of a plastic toy like most other mirrorless (excluding Fuji and Leica), and it comes in stealthy black.
The OM-D E-M5 on the other hand, now that is ugly.
I have the gh2, but if I wanted something small (ish) for mostly photo, I would consider the original om-d for the continuous live view in bulb mode. If you do anything with long exposures, this is a really cool feature to have
Definitely get something Fuji X-Mount. I love my GH3 for video but I can't stand shooting photos with it. And its not even significantly smaller than a lot of DSLRs.
I just bought an Omd, 45mm 1.8, 12mm 2.0, 12-50mm, fr600 flash and an extra battery used off a guy who is the first owner. I am fucking pumped to try it out, as some of the pictures I have seen from it looks really good.
And this fucking belongs in the camera porn thread:
