hello.

i'm looking for a any room to stay near alps in austria to ski. but hotel is too much expensive around over 1000 Euro per month(1500 dollers/month)and chalets are not suitable for one person. it's also expensive.

anybody knows how to find a space to just sleep and shower??

thanks.

Without a job lined up (they usually include accommodation) you need to put aside at least 600 euros a month for accommodation. Living expenses would easily be 1000+ euros a month.

Where did you get those prices from? Just doing my third season in france and this time decided to sort my own acc for the season, its going to cost me 1500euro for the whole season, bang centre of resort and bout 50m from a lift?

If you dont know people in the resort that can sort you out, your best bet is to go to resort early and speak to the tourism office, any season-long lets will be there.

ive looked aroud booking.com. i was a idiot..:( as u say, i need to go tourism office. thank you very much.

oui, je vois.

It's funny, someone just called me the bees knees and I didnt know what it meant.

Oh and [Tinydancer] what do you do there?

If your going to austria.
Buy an estate or van, live in it, one off seasonaire's will love you for it. then blag nights on sofa's and showers. Job done, if your still out there come late april / may we will be heading over for ISIA course's.
Have a good season!

Don´t believe that... I lived in Austria last season and you can find accomodation in a city like innsbruck (which have more than 7 resorts in 20 minutes of driving, and all with public transport) for maybe like 200-300 euros each month, a room with all the costs included (water, internet, light...). And there´s a pass for 80 resorts, more than 4300km of ski slopes of the Tirol region that last year was 433€, I don´t know this year...
That´s the better thing i think... buy if you are going to stay for less time, you could look the Young accomodation places, where you can live for 14€ per day, in a room with more people, and with kitchen and bathrooms... But that should be just for some days, not for the whole season....
Sorry for my english.....

I'm guessing you're not living on your own though? That's where I got that price from. If you are living on your own.. maybe I am severely out of the loop....
Re: the van.. baad idea if it's not properly insulated.
Macht dir kein sorgen Dudas, dein Englisch ist perfekt.

it can be hard to find, i'm trying to find a place in saas fee for 4 months, not easy to find cheap..

Hey guys sorry for the thread jack but im wondering if any one know where i can work in the alps ( i do not want to be a ski teachers ) whit accomodation and pass for free ? Im french canadian and im 18 years old. In first i tought to go in Whistler or something like taht but my english is not pretty good, so alps is my second option. If someone can help me it will be very appreciated.

thanks. do u think innsbruck is better to ski than salzburg?? yesterday i was looking for a room in Kaprun. but if innsbruck is better, i'd like to spend this winter there.

whole tirol season pass is 453 euros if ur a student in innsbruck, get a room in innsbruck..and maybe buy a cheap car...it will be worth it..u have like 40 or more skiresorts where u have access with ur card!

if ur lookin for a student appartement (called WG) where u share living with 3-4 students search here: it's in german but this is the best site for students in IBK:http://boersen.oeh.cc/view_wb.php (there are like 10+ new flats every day)u can also find garconnieres there (which is like a 1 room appartement for 1 person) try to search through this site and maybe get help from someone who understands german!peez

wow!!!! this site is awesome although i have to know German. i think i could solve it out. thanks very much~

i'm soooooo appreciated it~!!

SURE it´s going to be better Innsbruck!!!
I lived there last year ando you have good transport communication, great parties every day because it´s a student city, except in christmas, when everyboady leaves to their homes all around europe... and big cheap resorts if you buy a season pass...

So innsbruck is the best option if you want to live in a "big" city, and if you only want to ski just have a look in any little town that maybe is cheaper (but i don´t recommend it, you will be alone all the winter and having to move everytime you want to buy something...)

ha, that´s the web i used last year to look for accomodation... the only thing its shit its that they usually want a very high fee (i dont know if you call it like that, its the quantity of euros that they want you to give them for if you break something in the house, and that they will return you if not), maybe like 3 times the monthly cost...
Without that its just looking some words in german and it should be easy to look for one, but easier if you are there present so you can see them!
