I've been seeing those padded shorts around that help soften falls on your hip when sliding rails. Thinkin imma invest so if anyone knows any shops sellin them in SLC plz let me know

Check moto-cross shops. The pair I wear are alpine stars IIRC. I tried on a few different options before finding some that put the pad right on my hips and pelvis. They are a great investment.

Very light, soft pads which harden on impact, and the design is super good. Hands down the best product in the market. I've owned a few different products and tried on in a store a few more and anything doesn't come even close to these. Mine have over 200 days on the hill and there's only minor signs of wear.
