I'm not sure exactly how hard it is to get into if I'm honest, I'm not actually sure how competitive it is. I worked 3 summer seasons as Dish Washer/Kitchen Porter in a restaurant, 2 summer seasons in a little tourist shop, and just coming to the end of this season working in a Fish and Chip shop, all in the same town, and it get's really really busy down here, so I just gloated about this in my interview and made sure they knew I'd had plenty of experience in the food industry. Yeah I put down 2 of my employers for references but I'm pretty sure they didn't get in contact with either of them.
