Anybody hear ride silverton colorado?

yes... people were getting pow days a month ago there. its also the cheapest heli-skiing you will find.... I plan on heliskiing there this winter
 
silverton is sick. its the closest thing to backcountry but with a lot less hiking. i bootpack a few days every year to get some free days to use later
 
I have been there. It's super fun.
I hiked and it was a lot of work. Got three runs in the whole day. It depends on avy conditions to how far you are going to hike.
Overall it's a sick experience.

 
hey can anyone tell me a little about the bootpacking? is it really worth it? me and a buddy are gonna go down Dec 4-5. i hear you get to ski a little the day you bootpack, is that true?
 
rode it once.. WAS THE SHIT.

boot packing was worth it... they take you up with your skis ans you side step it down compacting the snow.. makeing a base and a stronger snow so the avy dangere will lessen in the year.
