it's hard to tell from specs and pictures exactly how it will feel/perform. i need some comments from people that have this shit. how does it hold up? is it warm? i was personally looking into getting the 3L jacket and it's tough to decide whether or not a shell will be sufficient or if i would need something with a lining.

its a sick jacket, but provides little insulation. you definitely have to layer with a jacket like that. that being said, if you can get good deal on it go for it. burton ak stuff is great.

yeah i work at a shop that deals burton outerwear, and i can get cost+20% off, so price isn't an issue. i just need to know if it'll hold up. anybody have similar outerwear and care to write a little review?

I have an older burton puffy, about 3 season that has a 10,000mm rating on it, it treated me very well last year.

even tho i bailed off a cat track and fell 10ft into a rock garden, it only had 2 small tears, in the elbow which i fixed.

They make some of the best stuff in the industry.

I don;t think you'll be dissapointed.

Burton Ak stuff is awesome. i have some 2l pants I put 100 days on last season at alta and they still are like brand new. I just bought the ak 3l jacket and it is veryyyy sick. the softshell material is so nice, you do have to wear stuff under it though...its a shell. But realyl great stuff.

burton's ak line is the best quality. i'm not quite sure, but i think the 3L is at least 20,000 mm waterproof. it has some third level gore-tex shit that's insane. it's definitely a shell though so layering is key to keeping warm. in my opinion, it's one of the nicest jackets burton makes.

ye i've had a burron ronin shell for 2 years and i just layer it with a mirco fleece and if its really cold a sweat shirt under that. It was fine when i was skiing at the mount washington at -30 at the base
