im getting mine out tomorrow, and sorta hyped, yet sorta scared. Anyone have any stories.

BTW: changed my name to nowisdomteeth because tomorrow around 11 30 i wont have any:)

I have, it's not bad. All you remember is them gassing you, then waking up feeling soooo high. People say it hurts REALLY bad but it didn't for me. Just remember, soft ice cream is your best friend...And pudding.

Ya you this is seriously a precedent setting medical case.

How does it feel to be going down in the history books?

Ya i had myn out its othing special just make sure you dont get a dry socket or an infection cause that stuff blows i didnt get one but my friend did and it sucked made the healing process so much longer good luck tomorrow

i remember i had it all planned out, i got the first two seasons of house and was planning to watch them as soon as i got home

what i remember is

"count down from 100"

"100. 99."

"tell dad i'm as high as balls right now"

frosty at wendy's

couch, house, press play

wake up groggy, bed time

sleep

wake up the next morning feeling fine

lounged around the house and took vicodin for the next week

good times

and be careful with popcorn, they say not to eat it for a while but there are going to be craters in your mouth for a few months

Hahah you guys have it easssay, I had mine out dec 23 of last year, no gas no shit, just those shitty injections they give you right in the gums. The dentist didnt inject it deep enough in the upper left so halfway through I felt this brutal pain of my teeth being torn out in sections lol. Hurt so bad my eyes started watering like crazy and it looked like I was crying. Got prescribed a lot of T3`s

mine were actually kinda pleasent i got to miss a week of school, beat zelda for wii and ate ice cream for a week.... just because i looked like a chipmunk

i didn't take any pain killers besides advil because i'm badass

but really it wasn't that bad, just soft foods for a few days

i got mine removed and it really wasn't bad at all. i constantly iced my cheeks and i slept sitting up the first night and i hardly had any swelling at all and i was eating real food in 2 days.

mine were awful. they were so badly impacted and sideways and shit that they had to smash them out and my jaw killed for like a week. i couldn't even eat for like two days, and only after that did i move on to soft foods like pasta. but, it's for the best, usually. you're teeth will be much less crowded and its not like you're going to have lasting damage. it's just going to be a really shitty first couple of days. even then, it's not the wounds that hurt so bad, its your jaw from being cranked open for so long. shit's gonna hurt all the way up to your ears, like you've been smashed in both sides of your face with a baseball bat. not trying to frighten you, just give you a dose of reality. expect the worse, cause i didn't and was rather put out when i didn't book any time off work.

oh, and if your gums stay all puffed out and feel like they're mangled, don't worry about that. they'll eventually deflate. i remember thinking that something was wrong when a week later they still felt like flaps of skin were poking out and it wasn't healing properly, but it's just because of the swelling. that'll subside, and it took mine quite a while to..

kbai

well, long story short, i woke up in my moms car after the operation, chugged a bottle of water and proceeded to open the door and vomit all of the water and blood out of my stomach. unfortunately we were in a grocery store parking lot and i vomited onto the vehicle next to us who's driver was still inside. i closed the door and blacked out again. not sure what was made of that situation.
couldnt feel my face for 4 days so i didnt take any of the meds. yay for 25 free vicodin es!

i have mine. i always expected to get them out but it never came up.

oh and take pictures of your face, +k if you are wearing a squirrel costume

I got mine out Friday.

Friday Night: Couldn't keep any food down, passed out while puking once.

Saturday: Not terrible, limited pain, lots of jello and oatmeal.

Sunday: Worst pain, couldn't sleep or eat, just watched T.V. with a hot pack on my face.

Monday:Pretty shitty, went back to the surgeon, they showed me how to rinse the holes (FUCK THIS) and had to poke through the bottom left because it healed over. It really hurt and they packed it with this numbing stuff that made everything I ate taste like cloves for the next 2 days.

Tuesday: Alright, still painful, especially in the A.M., but not as bad. Ate a real dinner.

Wednesday: Actually went to hockey practice (but had to stop halfway through because my blood pressure tanked and I blacked out) didn't have to take Vicodin except in the morning. Got more of the clove stuff back into the holes.

Today: No vicodin at all, minimal pain, at a full Thanksgiving dinner. Only took ibuprofen for the pain. Definatley turned the corner last night

for me the two worst parts of getting my wisdom teeth out were 1. not being able to bite into something. it didn't hurt too bad, but i was craving the satisfaction of biting into a big burger or something
and 2. the food getting stuck in the holes in the back of my mouth bugged me so bad, i would always get this super shitty taste in my mouth because food was like rotting back there

But the fact that you were knocked out meant you avoided them drilling at your face, blood splattering on the dentists face mask, pounding at your head with a chisel. Pounding ridiculously hard, wondering if they will slip and send a took into your brain. Trying to pry out tooth or break it. Yanking and pounding. Potentially hitting nerves in the process which really can fucking hurt, and potentially do damage.

and all I got was tylenol3? Are you fucking kidding me? What a rip off.

thank god i had a real pharmy stash.

I got all 4 of mine out and they hurt like a bitch for a week, then I got a dry socket so my jaw killed for 3 months. They heal funny, like big triangles of gum but they eventually go down. Make sure they don't let you out of the hospital too early, the nurse wanted to go home so I was let out 2 hours early so got really sick and was throwing up blood for a few hours.

Take note, don't suck anything for as long as possible and live on smoothies.

I was in and out of the doctor's office in like 45 minutes when I had mine done.

To start, the dude missed my vein twice when he was doing the anaesthetic. Then i didn't even get to count down from 100 :(

Woke up without realizing where i was, got wheeled out to the car where i attempted to convince my mom i could drive home. She said no. Got a milkshake on the way back. Got home, my mom told me to wait in the car. I decided to get out and hide. My mom and sister come out of the house and start freaking out thinking i've just gone wandering around, afraid i'm going to hurt myself or something. Then i pop out smiling (note that after a wisdom teeth extraction, your smile is covered in oodles of blood and gauze).

Went down to my basement and popped the TV on, put in Finding Nemo, then promptly fell asleep for four hours. Woke up and took a vicodin, then nearly threw it up because i hadn't eaten anything. I took advil for the rest of the time. Because i'm the goddamn Batman.

The pudding, jello, and smoothie diet gets old after a few days. I was pretty stoked to be eating a steak about a week later.

had a bad experience with mine. they were impacted and growing under my back molars so basically they had to cut down into my gums and shatter them with a hammer to get them out. i was swollen for 2 weeks and couldn't open my mouth for like 3 days after it. puked up blood and other shit the night of getting them out and i was just miserable for about a week. pain meds didnt do shit for me.

I got them out a week ago and right before they put me under they said go to a happy place..I reply with I'm going to fucking Narnia....I don't remeber anything from the day it was amazing.

its not fun at all! i had all four out and it sucked. i was out on pain meds for four straight days. Sitting on your ass watching tv gets really boring after a while so have a few things to do. I remember when i got home i had to piss so i flushed and i went to wash my hands, all i remember is looking in the mirror and then hearing a loud crash. Next thing my parents were shaking me (i fainted twice that day). Dont whatever you do drinki out of a straw cause drysockets suck. Goodluck! Oh and when they are knocking you out try as hard as you can to not fall asleep. I dont know why but that was fun tyring to fight off the sleepiness.

Wow! That's really exciting! I only know about 50 people who have the same thing done! Can't wait to here how your process went!

Yeah, I know no straws, but I don't remember shit about falling asleep. All I can remember is waking up, then pretending I was "driving" the wheel chair to my car when the nurse was pushing it hahaha

ya rigghhtt shits a blast. you get fucked up and eat ice cream and you won't remember anything anyway. you'll say some goofy shit for sure though ask your parents or whoever what you were talking about after.

yeah no video but according to my mom, i told her i was fucking this girl i was seeing (she didn't know any of this yet) and upon telling her i looked really nervous then i looked at her and said, 'oh shit don't tell dad, im not supposed to have people in my car yet".. i can still remember the look on the nurses face, then she dipped realll quick hahaha

yeah dude, it was awsome! the anesthisa was awsome, i felt trippy for about a day after. then i started taking percocet, that was trippy too. i had no pain and ate ice cream for 5 days.

*they might tell you to take 1 percocet, screw it and take 2, thats what i did it feels awsome (i stared at the wall for 3 hours and it was sooo much fun)! or you can take none, save them, and sell them.

I had all 4 taken out at once9they were impacted so they had to be shattered), and the recovery was probably the worst experience of my life. Couldn't eat anything, only liquids, for almost a week. Took almost an entire month to eat soild foods. My trachea was bruised, my mouth got split open about a 1/4 of an inch on both sides during surgery, and the worst part was the doc left chucnks of wisdom teeth in my mouth so the holes kept getting infected over and over again. Took about 4 months to be completely pain and infection free.

I think mine is an exyreme case though...

got mine taken out, and it remains one of the worst weeks of my life. I feel like my life at the moment is divided in 2-pre wisdom teeth, and post.

Though I also got dumped the night before i got them taken out, so i got super depressed, and i'm apparently allergic to every painkiller ever.

so unless you get dumped and have ridiculous allergies, odds are it'll be fine.

I loved getting my wisdom teeth out.

Apparently after the surgery I walked out to meet my dad and the first thing I said was... " Im so fucked up right now this is awesome". I then chased the one hot nurse around trying to spank her. I dont remeber any of this. I then cussed my dad out because I didnt have a milkshake so he got me one and I cussed him out again all the way home for no reaason. I then tryed to walk up the stairs to my bed I tripped fell and passed out and had to be carried to my bed. Again I dont remeber any of this. The rest of the week I got high on Hydros and played Cod all day every day and had the most fun ever. I also got a dry socket which to me wasnt bad at all I got a refill on my hydros because of it and got fucked up for another week haha. It was over christmas break which kinda sucked because I couldnt ski for 2 weeks but I still had a sick time.
