Anybody ever skied elans?

elans were the first pair of skis i didn't rent when i was 7 aka my first pair of skis. parks barely existed back then, and it was a shitty year so i didnt have much pow experience and im pretty sure they were something like 70 underfoot.

They focus more on carving skis but own a few other ski companies if im not mistaken. Also they are way more focused on the european market than north american~

word, i rode my dads old elan straight skis when i was between skis. it sucked, they were way too big for me and extremely hard to turn. and of course my post is completely useless to you.

I had an all mountain pair like 6 years ago that were fucking wide at the time (like 80 underfoot haha), so i thought i could rip the pow. they had a half upturned tail too, which was dope cause i could not commit to a full twin at that point in my life. but yeah, i learned switch skiing on those things, and hucked mad 10- 15 ft cliffs, rode pow, jumped... basically broke out at age 14.

so id say they did their purpose. i have them on my wall now.

oh and i bent the shit out of one on a backseat landing. a store guy said it was the titanium strips, that they were prone to bend. so one ski is sorta rockered now haha.

...who me??

yep i got myself handed a pair of M02's ...i can't really complain, elan is very underrated IMHO but like tim said above just link me if you have any q's

my sister got a pair of the first mo2's when they first came out and they were sick. im kinda sad that they got rid of the mo2 name but i think whatever they call it now still has the edge reinforcement rail edge thingy elan is very under rated but i would buy another pair of "mo2"s in a heartbeat

I skied the MO2 and still have a set of 999 powder skis. I really liked the mo2's but they were stiff for a park ski and buttering was hard work. Elan Warrenty is good, I cracked a couple of edges and sent them back an they sent me a new pair! I think armada's are produced in the Elan factory as are many other ski brands

i had mo2's. overall they were a good ski. very durable and good all around ski. only negatives were they were stiff as hell. also, im not sure, but i think the bottom two raiils in the base affect the way you slide rails.. not sure tho

never owned non elan skis. underrated. mo2 is bit heavy and stiff, but from the second gen are pretty sick. mo2.2...greatest thing ever, 999 not too wide, not too thin. perfect for pow, but a bit soft for my liking of 25ft+ cliffs

Elan is so much sicker than most people will ever realise. It's just a shame they can't market themselves properly.

MO2s are some of the nicest skis I've ridden. The edge thing is uselss but they ride really nice.

MO2.2s I didn't like at all, WAY too soft in the nose (it was the 06/07 model).

777s are damn nice but the nose doesn't rise enough for heavy snow.

Their carving and race skis are decent too.

i am totally there with you on their marketing...where is it? haha and yah the M02 ...i always thought those metal strips were just a gimmick
