Comparisons are being made to Thanksgiving 2001 by knowledgable sources. I know it sounds crazy but 4 feet by the end of the weekend is a reasonable estimate at this point...
It's gonna hit hard, break late Sunday, confidence low on any particular forecast for next week, but it's gonna be cold and wet...
From the forecast Discussion this morning:
"SYSTEM FOR SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT VERY SIMILAR TO FIRST PART OF THE BIG STORM OF THANKSGIVING WEEKEND OF 2001...WHICH BROUGHT 50 INCHES OF SNOW TO THE UPPER COTTONWOOD CANYONS. A COLD AND UNSTABLE AIRMASS WILL SWEEP ACROSS UTAH SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING. OROGRAPHIC CONVERGENCE AND LAKE ENHANCEMENT WILL MAXIMIZE ALONG THE WEST SLOPES OF THE WASATCH AND UINTA MOUNTAINS AND AREAS SOUTH AND EAST OF THE GSL. WINTER STORM WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED TO CAPTURE THE INITIAL SNOW SHOWERS TONIGHT THROUGH THE LAST LAKE EFFECT SHOWERS MIDDAY SUNDAY."
Hope you bitches are ready. I had a bunch of binding swapping I wanted to do, looks like that is going to be postponed indefinitely.
