I'm trying to go up to heavenly/kirkwood/sierra for my break (last week of march), but i'm legitimately worried theres not gonna be any snow. Anybody know whats up with the snowpack up there?
been hot and sunny all week, alpine is melting but there's still snow. I would imagine most places are losing snow quick, but there is still a bit left up around here.
Thats what i'm hearing. South lake got hit a little harder than the rest of the lake in that last big storm, to the order of 80" in 72 hours at heavenly.
depends on what you ski. park? bumps? groomers? heav has the south shore soldiers camp in high roller durning spring break so most of high roller will be closed off. sierras park is pretty weak this year compared to years past. as far a snow goes, its slushy spring conditions but there is still good coverage
I heard the ally had a sweet stepup, but I havent seen it as the last time I was at sierra was during the last storm and I was rockin some tree rock drops and 70 mph winds.
the alley is aight. a triple pack of jumps in the bigger sizes. the top table has a triple option of box, rail, or wedge. there is also a right hip by itself and the bottom step up has a left hip built in. the aspect faces the sun so it was super slushy yesterday and i could not get enough speed on my never seen wax jib sticks. high roller and powderbowl on the other hand was $ today....
