I have just started to give lil wayne a chance, and have to admit, am starting to kind of like him. I know some of you must be afficiandos by now, so are there any essential lil wayne mixtapes that I have to hear? if so post here, and karma will be granted. EASY

That should be a good start for now. All these are free so just google them and you'll find them right quick.
 
Drought 3 or da drought 3 i donno its probably the first one. either way i have heard a bunch of the songs on that one and its pretty good for the most part. I dont know how to share them though sorry.
 
get dedication 2, thats where its at. doesn't have any of the autotone bull, just straight spittin rhymes (in a weezy sort of way)
 
Da Drought is Over Part 6 is prolly one of his best.

The Carter 2 is a good CD.

Some of his Hot Boyz shit is good.

Dedication 2 & 3 are really good.

Most people just dont give Wayne a chance cuz of his mainstream bullshit.

 
You should get your ass kicked for having the illmatic album cover as your icon and liking lil wayne. Seriously??? You cant even compare the two. Im disgusted.

Get over yourself. No one is comparing Illmatic to any of wayne's shit. I am a early to mid nineties nyc hip hop lover, pretty much fanatic, but every now and then you have to expand your shit. I bet there is plenty of shity music you listen to. Stop hating, and his beats are ill if you give him a chance.
 
thank you. i was in no way suggesting that lil wayne was anywhere close to nas in any aspect, few are, but that doesn't mean that there not some substance behind all the mainstream shit
 
does lil wayne have a new cd coming out ? like the rebirth ? i'm out of the loop of the whole lil wayne is god thing.
 
yah hes got the Rebirth album coming out wich is going to be an all rock based album, wich is going to be pretty shitty imo. But then The Carter IV comes out after that, and he has already started recording for that. Dedication 3 is the most recently released mixtape. And he is also working on a mix tape with Juelz Santana...but that has been in the works for a while, they just havnt released it.
 
I see what you're saying, but doesn't the fact that he freestyles his songs make them THAT much more immpressive?

Sure not every rhyme is perfect but they're damn good considering they're made up on the spot.

Im pretty sure i font listen to any shitty music, wait..... yup dont listen to any. I had weezy but i deleted all his music off my itunes after i realized how big of a buzz kill he was.
