Yoo, so i knocked over our xbox with CODMW2 running in it and it got laser burned pretty bad and ruined the disc. So I was wondering if any of you work at any of the above mentioned places and could answer a few questions for me? I need some inside info, I know i can look up best buys return policy and what not...
Blockbuster... Do they check games after they get returned every time? If so, visual check or do they have a machine or what? Could I rent a copy and return the old one with it and say i got it like that?
BestBuy.. first, Could i try to exchange it with no receipt, say i bought it there and see if the hook me up? Would best buy exchange my disc if i bought a new one and then returned the old one with that receipt?
Walmat.. Same deal as bestbuy...

any place that takes disc returns i've ever gone to never bothers to run that shit it's always a visual check for superficial damages etc etc.

its a dick move, but from experience i have rented discs and then switched them out with fucked up ones from blockbuster. i dunno, maybe it wont work at the one near you, but it worked for me. they never noticed, said anything, or charged anything to my account.

Blockbuster doesn't check shit. They open the case to see that the right disc is there and that is it. Went to rent Snatch... damn thing wouldn't even get READ by the DVD player it was so scratched up. Took it back and had to pick up a different movie. I swear I saw the same DVD case on the shelf a week later.

get gamefly, order the game, wait 2 weeks, say you never got it. they send it again, return that one and keep the other.

this disc has a pretty visible scratch so thats why i was wondering about blockbuster.

The gamefly idea is not to bad of an idea for sure.

will best buy take anything back, broken or not, and exchange it, has anyone returned a fucked up game that way?

thanks for the help

doesnt blockbuster have like a 25 cent protection option when you rent the game. I know movie gallery does. rent the game and pay the protection fee and then bring it back.

as for returning the x box, i think your shit out of luck with that one. (assuming your xbox is more than 30 days old) unless you wait outside of best buy for someone to walk out with an xbox and ask for their receipt and bring yours back.
