i get to see a band called phish down there late october. just wondering if any of you go to umass and could tell me if i can sleep on a lawn or hook up with a hot college chick while im there for 2 nights.
 
shit i graduated in the spring, i def couldve let you stay at my apt and fuck around and slay alley cats

im not there anymore but if you're super desperate i could probably find you a place to stay at a friend's
 
my cousin goes there. hes the one who got me into freeskiing. decent skier i guess... doesnt go on ns at all really though

i guess i should rephrase my question, are there woods by the college i can poach after the concerts so i dont need to buy a hotel room.

yeah wings over amherst is the balls (also called the hangar)

the bars are whatever, if youre looking for fun i'd say try to find one of the hundreds of houseparties going on at any given time and have fun there

 
DEF go to the Hanger. another place to keep in mind is JOE's. its close to umass but not right next to the campus.bout 10 min away. wings=Hanger Pizza and other shit=JOE's they also have orgasmic garlic cheese bread.
 
i live in amherst, graduated already though, pm me. most of the bars are usually packed though, try house parties in puffton, the townhouses or brandywine.
 
i just graduated from amherst college, i was gonna try to go to these shows but since i don't have any money i don't have me any phish. i saw them this summer though and they killed it. shouldn't be too hard to find some nice woods to set up your tent. damn, reading all this is making me miss school...
if you're in amherst town itself you should hit up Antonio's for pizza, otherwise down by UMass campus, like people said, the Hangar is great. On Mondays and Tuesdays, 4-6 PM it's $8 all-you-can-eat wings and $5 pitchers.
also in town is Bueno Y Sano, good mexican and it's $5 large burritos on Tuesdays. and Veracruzana for more cheap but delicious Mexican. and i know you want to have a traditional West African meal while you're there... Baku's get a plate of rice, plaintains and goat meat for like $7
other places can get a little more expensive.
great weed out there too.
 
hobart is pretty weak now. there will never be another night in amherst like the weekend of the hobart hoe down. Riot city, what a fucking time that was
 
theres been some nice nights so far this year. of course nothing is gonna compare to a block party that the cops wont break up. as far as i remember the rest of that weekend they teargassed kids on hobart the night before and made a ton of arrests.
 
uhhh no this was a few years back. like 04ish. i remember watching a girl throw a lawn chair through a cop car's windshield. people running around with bandanna's on ripping shit to shreds. it was pretty fucking crazy. tear gas. paddy wagons. tazers, paintballs filled with mace. pretty intense.
