Any tips on C-rails? Yeah, Im that bad

Well, just started doing rails. I can do boxes fine now, and sometimes real rails. Theres some C-rails at the mountain im going to the next few days and im gonna give them a try. They look hard to learn, but once you get them they look fun. Is it basically just like hitting a box, but you gotta do it kinda fast so the centrifugal force or wtf its called keeps you from sliding backwards off it? Or do you just wanna lean up or something? Any tips would be sick. thanks, Ian

^ cant change the title

but yea, Its almost impossible to get a c-box your first time hitting it. its all about timing. there not hard, you just gota figure out your speed, angle, length, curve, etc.

hit it like any box and usually the curve will take you around. hit it again and again and you'll know the speed you need and how much to lean.

don't lean back and keep oyur stance wide

as for any rail/box look to the end not down to your feet

hehe, C-rails are quite a different experience than boxes. For boxes just hit it like a regular box the first time. You'll probably either go over it or fall down cause ur not going fast enough.

c boxes are super easy. the only thing that matters is getting the spped right. then just let it slide you around the corner. rails are harder because you actually have to balance yourself

hahaha there talking about c rails. but yess i agree with you there super sick looking.

as for the guy needing help, c boxes are easier then flat boxes. or easier then flat rails i shud say

Haha, thanks for all the help, I tried them today, took me about 5 tries to get the right speed/angle to get on, but once I got my first I got like 10 in a row. I gotta admit its a lot more fun riding rails when your sliding around a corner than just going forward. Uh oh, this means now I gotta find the balls to try some S boxes!! nah just kiddin, ill wait on that. Thanks though.

yup s-rails are super fun, they take a while to get use to tho, i remember the first time hitting htem and i fell proabably 20 times b4 i got it. i cant believe no one has critized this kid about c boxes... this is how NS should be like all the time

speed is probably the biggest factor...if you go to fast you will just throw your self over the edge and if you go to slow you will just slide down...

once you have the perfect speed you just let the box take you

Ya thanks for not being gay about this... I read some old posts, and they were full of kids being like "wow your fucking terible at skiing, you cant even 360?" and stuff like that. I bet half those kids cant even puull the stuff themselves. Whatever, its my first year in the park, and if I'm not as good as you, than feel free to tell me, just dont expect me to care. Thanks for all the help....Ian

Have one ski directly in front of the box and the other one the the inside of the curve, get centered, lean into it and crouch your knees.

if theyre set up like the c boxes on my mt. i gotcha covered. come at it at a slight angle and sort of jump on to it from the side. keep forward cause if you lean back, your done. look at the end and be steezy as fuck while taking all steps into consideration.

i'm probably almost as bad as the kid who created this threat but do you guys go into the box facing out of the curve or into the curve.

facing into. you want your tips like pointing off the higher part, out of the curve. I doubt it would work very well the other way. Plus Im pretty bad at spinning unnatural.

want a cookie?

anyways....its all about speed. if ur too slow you'll come off early, if ur too fast youll go over the top.

ALMOST. I did one my first ever shot at a C today, dinky ass piece of shit and sketch as fuck but i got off the end.

People go too fast, you dont need as much speed as you think, the curve carries you through, they are sooooooooo fun.
