Any tips for the most reliable and highest pop?

I understand the popping is jumping or sort of ollieing on skis at the lip of a jump. I usually try to lean back as I approach the lip and then jump a bit and lean forward. I also bring my knees up a little. But how high my pop is varies a LOT. So are there any tips to get a great pop everytime and also possibly higher?

uh if ur hitting a jump you do NOT wanna lean back. get those hands forward, knees bent, and pop off your toes. if your ollieing onto a rail, or just for steeze while skiing you can lean back into the tails and hop forward like an ollie on a skateboard or a j hop on a bike - however this is way more fun with rockered skis

you can indeed get the ski to give you more pop. jumping straight up doesn't let the ski do anything for you. but don't rely on the ski to give you good pop, do some leg exercises which will help more of your skiing than just popping

Forward pressure. I also find carving into something really loads up the ski and gives a nice release of a kicker/knoll/lip/etc

Actually its all in the hips. Cmon repeat after me....all in the hips, its all in the hips.

some please in bed...lmao

When popping on skis, it is NOTHING like doing an ollie on a skateboard, you do not pop off your tails, You want forward pressure on your boot, and you want to basically pop straight up.

Still not understanding how a certain ski, will give you more pop then another ski. All the "pop" comes from your legs...ie extending your legs slightly as your clear the lip of the jump. How can ski's aid in pop, when your not buttering off your tails or nose?

Unless you approach the rail/jump "tailpressin style" because you think you're the motherfucking b-dog,

pop from your toes.
