It's a high-intensive, full-contact, team-based sport with propably more injuries and accidents than american football with all their protective suits and shit.

Punk_rider... What you say only proves you obviously have never played a REAL match of soccer. You can push and struggle soooo much with your oppenet legally without getting a penalty. Actually falling from a small push in the pnalty field will often give you a warning from the referee..

as far as soccer not being physical and dangerous punk rider. I have injured myself more playing soccer than skiing and rock climbing, two 'extreeme' sports. and while your list of best players is extensive, many of them are very similar. Germans as a whole have a very rigid and basic style of play. they do the basics of soccer better than anyone as a whole. while this is good, I find it rather dull to watch.

^^agreed 1080enemy (however there are some exceptions) another team (country) that i noticed had a very dull style of play was greece. maybe it was just me be i thought that they where rather dirty and also very boring to watch. but hey it seems to work if they can take down top teams like france czech republic and portugal.

no shibby i agree with you as do many other people. greece is not a very technically sound team. they are very scrappy and put away goals when needed. there were probably 6 or 7 better teams this year at the olympics. Italy or portugal for example. but i give them full credit for getting the job done

My highschool team just beat the ex-undefeated team of the county 7-1. it was funny how bad we smoked them.
 
i love how the people dissing soccer probably do nothing at all but be lazy...you probably have never played the sport...i have also been hurt more times in soccer than any other sport i play including lacrosse skiing or golf (haha)

to all the haters...soccer is just as much a sport as rugby and football it takes skill and being physical fit so therefore it is a sport and if you dont like it then dont waste ur time posting about how much you hate it

Soccer is so f'in fun, I miss my old days of high school owning the shit out of peeps and also getting pushed around cause i was a smaller guy. But i have mad dribbling skillz. :) Sucks the college i go to doesnt have a mens soccer team. Alot of wasted talent in this state, which is Montana. I see some people I used to play against from local towns at this school too its funny. I still recognize them. It's a lifetime sport, I love it as much as skiing. I foresee myself getting into it again soon in my life.

I been playing as far as i can remember. I used to live in California when i was younger and they have alot of money down there so they had an awesome soccer program. So i learned alot about ball control and shit, then I moved to Montana, where soccer players are few and there is not much interest/money in the sport. But I met some kickass lifetime friends/people through soccer and so many good memories.
