Any season pass price you won’t pay?

I’m a dumb broke college student which probably a lot of us are. Skiing Grand Targhee has been rad as their college student prices have been relatively cheap compared to other resorts. Anyways, they just got rid of college student passes for this next year and prices for those over 23 are up to 900$ for the month of April and up to 1050$ after that.. Would the pass be worth the extra 500$ a year to you? Not really any other alternatives for me other than touring more.. but wanted to get some opinions.

depends on who you're paying it to.

If you're paying a bit more for a local and individually managed mountain that seems better than paying extra to a giant corporation like vail or Ikon. Bit of a values thing I guess.

Get a job at your local hill.

I got a job at Big Sky while going to school in Bozeman, I was on the bus for work at 4:00pm, and got back to the dorms at 10:00pm. I did this every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday for one season.

I made $100 a week for 6 hours of work, plus a free season pass and countless other discounts throughout the entire Big Sky resort... But I was stuck on a coach bus for 12 hours a week to make skiing at Big Sky work, I did get a lot of studying in on those 4 hour round round trip commutes though.

You gotta make sacrifices for the things you care about OP!

Yeah. Didn't get a 'ghee pass last year, and I won't again next year. I get why the price is going up, but especially when they had no park all season, I just don't have that kind of dough to blow.

if you live in close proximity to major ski resorts you’re pretty much a captive audience as far as pricing goes. This hurts me to say but at the end of the day Id financially drain myself to extremes for my pass if it got to that point

pretty sure bridger just moved their normal passes to $950 which is nuts and stupid as fuck, pretty sure the locals pass is still affordable though.

hella small hills in Minnesota and Wisconsin have sub $300 season passes

Tyrol has a flash sale every summer for a 150-180$ szn pass just for one day tho

My Bogus pass for next year was only $250 with the young adult (24 and below) price. Without the discount I think they're still only 350ish. Twilight pass is even cheaper.

Didn’t pay for a pass this year and my dad won’t be paying for one either next year. thanks to me ?

tiny hill vibes, I had 3 separate season passes in ohio this year for less than 700 lmao

I don't think my legs will be up for skiing 3 passes again next year though

I'd never pay over 500, I buy a $100 boho pass every year and I get an employee pass for granite peak and ig thats about all I need

With ski touring, all runs are free!

Id pay for my local pass, no matter the price. Just in case this years happends; little snow, lots of rain-freeze cycles, a safe place to ride if conditions in the BC sucks
