Any producers/music makers on NS?

So I was thinking bout how there's a shit ton of creative people on here and realized there's bound to be some people that make beats or are in bands or something. If you have a soundcloud or site, link em!

(my soundcloud's in my sig, i make hip hop instrumentals and some trap and future bass)

I repost dope shit on my soundcloud and make none of my own music. If you don't have the same taste in music as I do, I don't recommend you follow me. I repost lots of electronic music, with the occasional saucy acoustic song. If you check it out, and are disappointed, again, I recommend you don't follow me.

I used to make electronic tunes in high school 04-07 or so. I wish I kept with it but just kinda grew out of it. Was fun though.

Been playing real music forever though. Im always moving around so long term bands don't haven but I travel with handrums and play with strangers everywhere I go. Had a band in NZ playing once a week in town that was pretty fun. Was going to start playing out with som e kids when I got back to Ny but then I got all weird and needed to move and went west.

Hoping to find an open mic night or people to jam with out here.

Music is life

Cool story hansel

I feel it, playing live music is hella fun. I started out playing hand drums and it inspired me to take up actual drum set and now I'm in a band too. Our bandcamp is turftitleca.bandcamp.com

hand drums are where its at. Just bought myself two new drumsets last winter and started playing the kit again but the few years prior was traveling with hand drums.

Hand drums are great. Dont quit that shit.

I want to get myself a Hang drum at some point. You ever used them before? Have you used them before and, are they easy to pick up?

I mainly just want to make some chill beats like this:

That would be sick dude! Play that outside your store and it would boost customers so much.

posting because I have a draft for this song that was going to be a something I was going to work on for the next month or so. Put about 50 hours into already aaaaaand the file decided to rip its own asshole apart. Lost all of the synth sounds that I spent most of the time designing. Making music pisses me off a lot which is why I hardly ever do it anymore. the thrill is gone

have fun:

I've been thinking of getting into it but I honestly don't know where to start completely.

I started with drums then I got into guitar and bass, it's really what ever you want to do, it just takes time and effort. If you decide to go into guitar get an acoustic, it's a lot easier to practice whenever and where ever you want.

Do you play entirely Smiths covers?

This is so so close to being sick. Some tasty EQ and a better mix and it'd be well on its way!

Did you do all of the sound design in this?? what DAW u use

Thanks! I really wish I could mix better, I'm pretty bad at it. I know a good mix when I hear it but I can't do it for the life of me. I did all the sound design with Massive and ESX24 sampler built in Logic Pro (what I used for the song).

Anyone mess around with the novation launch pad at all? They're fun little things.

That's sick! I have a lot of trouble in synthesis, I'd say mainly because I don't even know what I want my synth to sound like in the first place. There's just so many aspects to production it's extremely easy to become overwhelmed.

I've been targeting EQ and the mix recently;
https://soundcloud.com/legit_url/waves

My hot tip would be rolling off the lows of anything that doesn't need them, ie leads. Let the drums and bass fill in the void in the frequency spectrum. Also roll off < 20Hz on everything - it's just unnecessary mud.

I relentlessly roll off the lows on everything, it's a pet peeve of mine not seeing the EQ like that. One of my problems could be that I'm mixing my tracks with $5 skullcandy earbuds... My studio headphones broke 3 years ago and I've never replaced them.

One thing I've learned with production is that you should never go into it with an idea of what you're going to make unless you know enough about production to replicate that sound- very few people can do that. Just go and let it flow, otherwise you will get pissed.

That song was nice and chill, very well mixed. Diggin it homie!

But then how do you synthesis if you don't actually know what you want? Is it all experimental?

Cheer

I've been just remaking the drops of songs that I like and it has helped me a lot to understand structure and to better design my synths (which are just lame saw waves in for massive right now)

My soundcloud is
https://m.soundcloud.com/stefan-himmel-1

That is my soundcloud for my electronic music class, so most of the stuff is bs I had to do as excercises or things I wanted to do (the Lana and Flume things) that I had to rush

On a side note does anybody have a trackpad they could sell me? I am looking for a maschine or something similar... I'm also looking for a good dj controller like a ddj-sr or a traktor kontroller... Pm me if you have anything

I guess it is all experimental. I usually just let things go as they go, I know how to make certain noises and effects but the core sound is all luck for me.
