Any people from Ithaca ny? I have a serious question

So we've been going to 6 mile creek a bunch this summer and we were going I head down his weekend but I heard someone died there recently and now cops are arresting people who go there. Can anyone tell me if this is true or not?

Well I was there 2 Sunday's ago and it happened last week. I just don't wanna get all the way down there and get arrested for jumping there
 
Can't find anything online about it. But if you are that scared, there are a lot of places, and a lot of people that cliff jump out there. If you're in a place where there are a lot of people (which is what usually happens) the cops wont arrest everyone.
 
Yea I go to school here. I've heard about cops heavily patrolling the gorge jumping spots and people have been getting tickets and getting in trouble with the school. To be honest I don't know much about the 6 mile creek spot (I think that's more over by Ithaca College?) but I think that's a pretty popular spot so I imagine its been getting patrolled hard too.

Also I've seen articles about how you can get really sick from the bacteria in certain parts of the gorges.
 
I was at the gorges with a friend that goes to school up there earlier this summer. I had no problems and there were lots of other people there jumping with us. We even camped there over night and had no problems.
 
Though, some kids came up to us saying someone stole all of their shit. One of them was wearing an Armada shirt. NSer?
 
Ya, but if you go to the falls, there is a ledge about halfway down the fall. It's about 3-4 inches deep. It's alot of fun. Also there is a diving board
