I was just wondering if there are any other telemarkers on this site. And don't start dogging me if you aren't cause you don't know me or how I ski so don't assume I'm some slow old guy.

 
damn straight i freeheel, not most of the time, but there is nothing like getting faceshots when there is only a foot of fresh. Tele is best for backcountry, well acttually i like my touring binding for backcountry, too scary to straight line baker bc with tele skis. but treking on the ridge, nothing is faster than free heels.

dude, you rock the baker bc on tele? we should meet, however I've been downhilling a lot more than my tele lately as I have midfat tele skis and that doesn't always cut it at baker but i want a buddy to go to the backcountry with on the tele set up

 
I used to tele in my spare time but I'm so busy with alpine now and I need to get new gear. Hopefully it'll happen in the next year or two. I love that shit. By far the hardest of the 3 disciplines....the most fluid too.

a bunch of friends and i were talking about trying it this winter on our trip to steamboat.. is it super hard to pick up the basics, or will we be falling all over like we are younguns again. also, does anyone have any basic pointers that will help the learning process??? thanks guys.

If you're solid technically on alpines then it shouldn't be too hard to get the basics down. But be prepared for the quad workout of you life.

2 things to always keep in mind. Your outside/front foot is for stability and your inside/back foot is used to drive through the turn. You'll never be able to carve on teles unless you learn to drive hard with your back foot.

Dragons, Skyhoys, T-1's - Tryin' to score some Big Bangs w/ Rotties off eBay (no one snake in and take those from me at the last minute!) for days I just want to cruise.

Damn bills kept me from enjoying the 8-10' of fresh at Wisp (in MD) today, but I hope to get out there next Sunday.

its all snow, i din'ed for 18 years, its fun but when you lock into your bindings you rage the mountain, now i only tele and its all about picking your line. in the park your gear is lighter and you can feel the tranny's easier. you dont like the phase free your heal free your mind, its because you havent free'ed your heal yet...dumbasses...tele in the park because you can and people dont...trust physics not your mind...ok i'm comming down from the soap box now....
