Does anyone else here race? Im just startin this year for my school and i got some new racin sticks. If you race are you good and waht kind of sksi do you have (for racing)

I race and I still ski on atomic 916s they aer now going into their fourth season, or third I forget they are amazing skiis! I also have some volkl 724 AX3s coming. I skied the demos last year but couldn't keep them. very very sick ski. and I have a couple pair of head world cup that really dont get used much cause I dont like the way they kick back its inconsistent.

I raced, I might still race, we'll see. I had whatever k2 gave me... patriot, mach... whatever the fuck this years are called. racing is addictive. its a really cool lifestyle... especially since if you really do it it takes a lot of time out of school. but then it inevitably gets gay sometimes. i sucked.

 
i'm kinda half thinkin about gettin back into ski racing. sure goin big on kickers is fuckin awsome but carvin huge turns around gates in gs and super-g is still fun!

I race, and the rest of these fags who rip it don't matter becasue most of them couldn't carve a turn if their life depended on it. Racing is great for skiing, you'll lean the foundation of how to work an edge, tune a ski, survey terrain, and choose a line. All the things you'll learn in racing, except how to wear a skin tight suit, will benifit you in the rest of your skiing. All good freeskiers, from Seth to Eric were ex-racers and racing programs are where you develop the skills you need to have style and work a ski. If you want to be a jumper go practice gymnasics, but if you want to be a skier get involved with your local USSA program and go have some fun.

 
I race with Fischer World cup 155cm. There pretty sweet. I wasn't very good last year but this time I could be better.

i dont race, but some of my friends do. I totally support it. They may not be the best jibbers yet, but at least we can all ski anything on the mountain and carve turns, which is also really fun if your goin super fast. I kinda wish i would have raced, just to get my technique down better, but oh well. As for skis, fischers are real nice if you can flex those beasts, i got to ski them in a 160 for the slalom skis, but i couldnt even flex them, but i am alightweight, yeah i kinda rambled on that one...

ya, i can ski anything on the hill and i dont race. the racers at my hill r so bad. we go faster backwards than they can frontwards. they snowplow, its disgusting

Hate to burst the bubble buddy but I teach freestyle and freestyle helps balance soo much. what people need to realize is that all skiing is interchangeable! freestyle teaches balance better than anything, racing teaches mental stuff and pressure controls and regular ski lessons promote timing. its all interchangeable

i race, im all right ive got 130points is SL and GS, i skied on dynastar last year for techinical and and atomic for speed. Hopefully next year ill be on nordica or whoever wants to give me free skis. by the way, huckasaurus you a retard, why would you be on ns if youre gonna be hatin' jibbers

im gonna arce for the skool this year....the only reason im doing it is so i can get out of skool and just be on snow...and there are some hott girls doin it...ill either use my dads race skis, or just cruise through the gates on my mike nicks. ill probably actually try tho..i dont wanna look like a fool

^dude, racing with school is so laid back, if you look like a fool and laugh about it, nobodys gonna care. even if you dont laugh about it nobody will care anyways cause its a school racing circuit. the people that race there just do it to get out and have fun, not to take it too seriously, its what racing is all about for me

i used to race, but i stopped a couple years ago, i got a little tired of doing the same thing over and over. im thankful for what racing did for me, it gave me better balance, taught me how to carve properly. now i can ski anything i want to.

im gonna start racing if i get accepted into cegep this winter

atomics are nice and all, but im surprised no one has said fischer. they make swank, swank race skis. they hold an edge really well and are all around badass. head makes nice sticks as well

yeah i got new fischers, well most of my local ski team does. Actually most of West michigan does because a Rep came around and sold everyone skis. There way sweet though.

i want to go to some of the skierXs at whistler this season if i have the time and money. im a bit scurred though cause im all small so id have to get a damn good jump on everyone to win and not die... otherwise im thinkin id lose... damn big people and their not smallness.

 
im sure racing is a real technical sport, so is figure skating. and im sure its hard to steer your ass into stupid fucking flags. doesnt make it right though. skiings skiing though at least you got that right just do me a favor and leave your racing shit on the racing hill when you come to session the park

im on Atomic 11.12 SL with Salomon Bindings, 140cm for slalom. and 160cm for GS( i dont know what im getting for GS, havent got em yet. try talkign to some reps.

Vertigo's were not a bad ski, and neither were the G40s (talked about them in a previous post) the G40, while haveing a small twin, we a remarkable good ski in the BC.

i say they are small cause htey were all saying they skied on like 140-170... which is pretty short.... and below the new fis minimum lengths... the dh length is 215... which is a bigger beast than i can turn... the dh's ill probably never use agin are 208s... and yeah.

 
my brother used to race FIS and was sponsered by Rossignol, so i use his 205 Super G skis every now and then and theyre insane, you get going so fast on them, and you really gotta work to make em turn, i love em

im not that good in park, but thats cause i odnt go in hte park all that often. ill probably go in the park 2 or 3 times a day, for one run each time. the rest of the time im looking for powder, or skiing the slopes at mach speed. its good times
