Any other colleges make you do uninformed intro courses?

I'm a freshmen at RIT this year and we have to take this 2 hour course on uniformed topics such as student drinking and drug use. Only about 10 minutes was informative. The rest was just bullshit about student life that only about 10% of students have. Any other colleges make you take a intro lesson like this or just RIT?

Pretty much every college has them. However, even though the university labels it "mandatory" there is rarely any consequence for skipping it.

hahahahahahahaha i had to do this last year. when you have your club fair thing you get a pillowcase all about consenting to sex.

and iirc they dropped the class that's about making friends...because RIT

get ready for the real fucking weird bro

Yeah I went to Niagara and there was a class kind of like that. Kind of a general "intro to college" class i guess you could consider it.

only shitty schools that have problems with drugs and alcohol make students do that bullshit. NOT AT HARVARD THOUGH

My school made us do this ....called it "university 101". The most absurd BS useless way to spend money on a college class for a semester. Literally learned nothing from it. Went through the typical drug/drinking bullshit but so useless besides for that one kid who has never had a drink before.

Side note...one of my buddies freshman roomates was a pretty cool kid but never had a drink before college. Kid loved drinking and raged so hard was hilarious

We had one, but the individual colleges had a choice of whether or not to make a a part of their requirements. Luckily for me, the science and engineering college was the lone holdout, and I was in engineering school, so I got to skip that shit.
