Any Oregon locals know how the weather is in May on mount hood?

I’m asking because I feel like the percentage of sunny days later in May are a lot higher than early May.

I’m planning a trip and don’t want to schedule it for 1st or second week of May when 3-4 days of skiing could be eliminated because Timberline isn’t running chairs. Or is that not how it is, like do you get one bad day and the rest are usually fine? I just didn’t know if there were like 4-5 day periods where the weather is virtually unskiable.

yes I’ve seen May clips from hood and it looks beautiful, but I’m trying to maximize my skiing, trying to eliminate chances of only getting like 8-9 days in as much as I can.

thanks,

May is pretty unpredictable, I've been at hood for many difference times throughout May and some years its all sun, some years its all clouds. I think they key to having the best trip is just understanding that even if its not bluebird, it'll still be fun.

May is definitely all.over. April is almost more predictable.

But then you can get days were it's 45 in rain on the way up all the way to govvy and then you go up and pop out the clouds into bluebird

Yeah that’s the plan. I could care less about the rain as long as they’re running chairs on magic mile life is good.
