Yes it works, but make sure it's laid flat, and flush

how thick is the plexiglass?

it breaks pretty easily if it's not too thick, because of the coldness....

plexiglass work good but when you screw it down make sure the sqrews are below the surface of the plexiglass

i used plexiglass for my rail but iw cracked, so i switched to lexan. No complaints yet!
